shaolin saiyan
in the new dex it is my understanding that longfangs can have 5 hvy weapons, is this correct? and also can the wolf guard termies equip melta bombs, it does not say they are restricted, i dont think, but i know no other variety of termies that allow this. Athalus
Yes to the 5 heavy weapons. A "I think so" in regards to the m-bombs. Wolf guard are extremely customizable, so I don't think its restricted. The Fenrisian
Yes to to both shaolin. The LF pack can take up to 5 LFs, each who need a heavy weapon. The meltabomb entry for WG just states that each WG can take it, with no reference to a certain armour set. An if someone moans, you can take a chainfist for the cost of having 5 WG with MBs anyway. TiguriusX
can the wolf guard termies equip melta bombs, it does not say they are restricted, i dont think, but i know no other variety of termies that allow this. "Any WG model" includes TDA equipped WG They are intended to be customized every which way Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193880-couple-of-s/#findComment-2303779 Share on other sites
MalachiOfRuss
What TiguriusX said is significant. A single WG can equip a MB if they want, you do not have to put them all on the entire pack. This is a distinct difference from, say, Swiftclaws or Wolf Scouts, where the entire pack must take Melta Bombs. The difference is the wording "any model" versus "the pack may take..." Grey Mage
Note that a SW is also the only model who can have a bolt pistol and the resulting +1 A in TDA- Njal Stormcaller. We dont just break rules, we walk through them without even noticing ^_^. shaolin saiyan
so ive got a new one for you guys, i was at my gw and i was picking a couple things up for my wolves in progress and got to talking with the big red, lol the manager, and he was telling me that if grimnar was to join a pack of long fangs they could move and fire their heavy weapons, due to relentless, is this true? Athalus
Yes. Tis a fun trick. Then you can give them tankhunters next turn. Str 10 lascannons are fun =). Some people put grimmy in a drop pod with long fangs because they will be able to fire right away. Call it "wolf bomb". Some think its a waste of points, but its pretty funny. CainTheHunter
He wanted to sell You Grimnar's model, didn't he? That's a straight pointsink but might be funny to use. shaolin saiyan
lol he could very well have been, crafty crafty, but i made my own ragnar and we were just talking rules and buying the kits to make long fangs. WolfGeezer
I used the wolf bomb once and it had huge success. 4MM, a HB and basic WG for wounds. I was up aganst mech Plague Marines with a LR and a bunch of rhinos. He refused deployment on turn 1 due to the threat. I podded into a wood right in the centre of the table, just into my half of the table. Their placement controlled his strategy through most of the game and they took out over 900 points (incl. 16 PMs in Close combat - he underestimated Logan ;) ) and the rest of my army tabled him. One of the most satisfying games I've played with the new dex. Reminds me I must do it again soon! Coverfire
If I may, I would like to tag a question onto this thread. Swiftclaw Attack Bikes, can I decide to give them a Powerweapon that is designated for a Swiftclaws model? They aren't treated differently are they? as in one is a 'Swiftclaw' the other is an 'Attack Bike' Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193880-couple-of-s/#findComment-2306812 Share on other sites
stinkenheim
they are not swiftclaws, they are swiftclaw attack bikes so IMO no you couldn't. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193880-couple-of-s/#findComment-2307073 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Its kinda like how SM command Squads cant take a Company Champion upgrade on their Apothecairy. *shrugs*.
