BurningQuestion
Hello folks, I started back in on this project around 6 weeks ago after it spent about 14 months of the shelf of shame. It’s a 40K deathdealer based on an old epic stalwart. It’s effectively a chaos temple mounted on a baneblade chassis with a soul grinder stuck to the front. It's meant to transport marines/daemons into the heart of the action where they leap off the stairs and do their thing. All the while the daemon engine blasts away. Here’s how it left the shelf … http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/Pyre-Studios/Deathdealer/iso.jpg These shots are of the chassis as it is now. I’ve used “salt flaking” to get the paint chipped effect at the front of baneblade and wet blending on the armoured plates. The look I went for is a former IG tank which has now been possessed. http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/Pyre-Studios/Deathdealer/P2030272.jpg http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/Pyre-Studios/Deathdealer/P2030271.jpg Any C&C welcome. best! Divergent Reality
could we get a good look at the soul grinder placement on the front and of the soul grinder itself? BurningQuestion
I shaved down the underside of the grinder until I got a reasonable fit. I clipped and reversed the arms so as to attach them to the front of the tank. I then plastic-pinned the thing to the baneblade. It’s the same as regular pinning but uses plastic rods & plastic cement. The leg sockets have been filled with the lamps and bits from a manufactorum kit From the top http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/Pyre-Studios/Deathdealer/grind.jpg With the armoured plates http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/Pyre-Studios/Deathdealer/grindp.jpg From the front http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/Pyre-Studios/Deathdealer/grindf.jpg The Soul Grinder has had a grill added to mouth, additional barrels to is gun and some extra detail added to the body, Khorne symbol, bone spur etc… I’m in the midst of painting it at the moment. http://i642.photobucket.com/albums/uu145/Pyre-Studios/Deathdealer/daemon.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/193979-40k-daemon-engine-deathdealer/#findComment-2305394 Share on other sites
GI Joker
That is too cool. Even at this early stage it looks fantastic. I love how there is eerie green light coming out from the cracks in the Baneblade. lostsoul
I've never seen anything like that before, not that I know many of the more bizarre epic models, thats a monster. An insane creation, I'd be intimidated seeing that come out to play. I bet thats tough to destroy and a very impressive center piece to an army. sword brethren
looking quite epic! i love how you have incorperated the soulgrinder in without making it look to soul grindery, the extra guns and face grill sets it apart in a good sutble way. well done! angel of justice
I like it, reminds me of snail, a techno demon snail that lives inside of a tank instead of a shell but my mind is nothing if not full of twisted metaphors.
