The breaking of the Crimson King

*Stands at the flank of the Great Wolf's table with an axe through a belt loop and rhythmically pounding the floor with a carved staff*

"Gather round brothers and let me tell a great tale, a tale of fire, murder-make and treason to our Legion. This is the tale of the fall of the Thousand Sons.

Long was suspicion cast upon Magnus and his Legion

Cries of vile Sorcery uttered from many trustworthy lips

Yet none of us truly knew the dark dealings evolving

Events that would shape the outcome of the Crusade

At the meet of Nikea all of his ugly practices were forbade

Yet it seems his unclean works forged on, in the shadows

On Prospero a malign evil stirred, something went awry

And the Red Giant revealed his treason to the All-Father

The great Warmaster, Lupercal, gave us what all of us desired

The opportunity to bring the Sorcerors to ruin for their deeds

The Wolf-King’s fleet was assembled, ready for murder-make

Our glorious Legion pushed on, eager to combat our brothers

The bombs they fell, guaranteed to ruin the cities of the scholars

Our time of glory was close at hand, Russ would have Magnus’ head

The Legion embarked upon their drop-ships, ready to fight the foe

Flames seared the sky, leaving bloody gashes, justice was near

Once the ships reached the surface things became much clearer

The Sorcerors had been well prepared, utilizing their arcane arts

The might of their Legion was ready for us, a clash of true titans

We had the might of the Allfather, guiding our blades and hearts true

Brother fought battle-brother in the blood-slicked streets of Prospero

The fury of blade versus warp-spawned powers, so many warriors fell

Though slowly the righteous forged on, driven on by the promise of glory

Custodes and the Silent Sisters offering aid to the raw force of the Wolves

The Wolf King confronted Magnus upon the causeway, the final confrontation

It stretched for what felt like an eternity, both mighty and prideful combatants

Though the stalemate could not continue, one of the magnificent titans had to fall

Russ gained an advantage and broke the Crimson King, the traitor over his knee like a twig

After Magnus’ downfall the Thousand Sons fled the invading forces, routed they were

Only after the fight was long won and the celebrations begun did we learn the truth

We had been betrayed by one soul we trusted, Lupercal had betrayed everyone

There was little glory to be had from the fall of Prospero, we were pawns in a cruel game

So my brothers, this is a cautionary tale, do not take authority for their word. They often have their own agendas, hidden behind a mask of innocence. It led us to a great mistake once before, one that altered the galaxy. Do not be afraid to take up your axe and refuse to serve anyone who makes an objectionable request, it is your right as a son of Russ.

FOR THE WOLFTIME!!"

A small part of the saga of the wolf king in the socerers shadow

The worlocks looked up with faces pale

The wolf kings pods rained down like hail

A mighty force that could not fail

The furious wolf all fangs and tail

They knew the wolf king would prevail

A mighty warrior all clad in mail

There was no defence he could not scale

No treacherous swine he could not gaol

The worlocks began to weep and wail

At that moment their spirits fail

Once our brothers now meek and frail

The cost to them for their betrayal

A coming storm no ship could sail

The wolf kings speartip too impale

A brothers words all false and stale

To stand against us with no avail

With stomachs full of meat and ale

The space wolves landed to assail

The one eyed traitor with tooth and nail

And in this task we did not fail

One eye fled into the socerers veil

His trechery on the grandest scale

Along the chaos paths they trail

Foul deeds and magiks they did entail

destruction on a planetary scale

Their foul magiks we did curtail

The plans of traitors we did derail

And sent them all into the veil
