RPGs

so i like having a story with my forces, and right now, im doing an inducted IG army. The premise is that it is either a stranded army, or a covert sabatoge and raid army utilizing locale resistance fighters. So what we get is a leader (inquisitor lord), regular troops (stormtrooper), militia/resistance fighters (IG), and specialists (various elites and fast attacks), fighting using guerrilla warfare.

Now, one of the most iconic 'resistance weapons' that comes to mind is the RPG (rocket propelled grenade). So, i want to model some of my resistance fighters (IG) with them. BUT, since it should realistically fall between the two, would the grenade laucher or missle launcher be a better count as?

Mssile launcher because of this model: LINKY

I would go with missile launchers as well; it's much closer to tha actual form and function of an RPG than a grendae launcher.

Also, RPG stands for "Ruchnoy Protivotankoviy Granatomyot;" "Rocket Propelled Grenade" is a backronym that I'm not too fond of since it gives people very inaccurate ideas about what the weapon actually does.

Depends on which route you want to take.

If you want to focus on the imagery, I would use missile launchers. They obviously resemble real-life RPGs much closer than grenade launchers.

If you want to focus on tactics, and actually being able to make effective hit-and-run attacks as a guerrilla force would, I would go with the grenade launcher. It's hard to hit-and-run with heavy weapons.
