Brother Navaer Solaq
Q. Does the acid blood rule affect the entire unit or just the models in base contact with it? I saw a nasty match where it took out 10 marines from a broodlord suffering a wound. Thanks. Ntin
Every time a model with the acid blood upgrade suffers an unsaved wound then the unit also suffers a single wound. There is a bit more to the rule but there should be no way 10 marines can die to a single acid blood model since there are no 10W Tyranid models. Legatus
"For every unsaved wound a model with acid blood suffers in close combat, the enemy unit that struck the blow must pass an initiative test or suffer a wound." So, first of all it inflicts "a wound" on the unit that wounded the Tyranid creature with the acid blood. 10 Tactical Marines = one unit, NOT 10 units. Second of all, it looks like they also forgot the initiative test, which is not that hard to pass with Initiative 4 (1-4 passes, 5 and 6 fails). So even if every single model in the unit would have been affected by the acid blood (which they are not), then it should still only wound 3-4 models out of a 10 man unit. Example: 10 Tactical Marines attack a brood Lord. They wound him twice. Now the Tactical squad has to make two initiative tests. For every failed test, the unit suffers a wound, so worst case scenario is that the tactical squad suffers two wounds. Sparhawk
Are saves allowed on these wounds? I don't have a copy of the nids dex. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194138-acid-blood/#findComment-2307892 Share on other sites

But it says unit on the description and unit under the BRB states it consists of several models, or one large... etc. I would assume that it would be that case... the nid book should have been written with model instead of unit. ^_^ Oops. After reading the "... or suffer a wound." It makes more sense now that only one model would be hit by the acid blood and not the entire group... Frosty the Pyro
Indeed, one initive test per unsaved wound, and one wound with no armor or cover saves per failed initive test. It is however just questionable enouph if unsaved wounds past the number of wound the model have cause tests as well. Neither party would be wrong in requesting a roll off on the subject.
