Dezartfox Posted March 8, 2010 Share Posted March 8, 2010 This April I'll be going to Conflict Scotland, a GW ran event in.. Scotland! The tournament there is a 500 point Doubles. The armies work around this system: You can't have a second Heavy, Fast or Elite before you have one of EACH, so to get a second Heavy, you need to have a Heavy, Fast and Elite in your combined armies. Only one army needs to have a HQ choice, both armies can have one if desired, but no more than one each. The combined armies must have 2 troops between them, if the armies are battlebrothers then one 500pt force can contain both troop choices, otherwise each force must have a troops choice. Easy! So, I'll be teaming up with Tau! And I'll be taking Space Marines :verymad: SO, our combined forces: Tau Commander (lower points ones) - Plasma Rifle, Missile Pod, Hard Wired Multi Tracker, Positional Relay. 9 Firewarriors - Shasui with bonding knife 10 Firewarriors - Shasui with bonding knife Hammer Head - Rail Gun, Burst cannons, multi tracker, disruption field. My army: 10 Assault Terminators - Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields 5 Scouts - Teleport Homer - Heavy Bolter The Tau have the positional relay, which means I get my Terminator squad down on a 2+ on the second turn. Brilliant. The Terminators will usually combat squad into 2 squads of 5, one will use the teleport homer on the scouts, (who will always be in immediate danger of course ;) ) and the other squad will work on defending the Tau/pushing to defend objectives. The tournament is being held on the 18th April, which gives me 41 days in which to paint my 500 point force and get practice games in! I'd preferably like to get everything done before Easter so I can concentrate on University work over the Easter Break! Also, to make it more difficult for myself I chose this time to practice super detailing and reposing of terminators! This mainly involves adding rivets, adding new cables and chopping up terminator limbs! Paint scheme will be that of the Angels of Redemption! So half green, half bone. I can see the ideas you wanted to let them look like, but it just doesn't work for me. The 1st scout on the other hand is nice, really like the look on that one. Same goes for the termies, lovely! Really like the first one, that's an idea I have to steal (did you only cut his left leg?) The other terminator is good too, I have another question, where do you guys get those 'power' cables from? Keep seeing those and I just need me some! The 'HQ' is ace! I personally think the shield might be a little too big, but I guess it still needs allot of work so I ain't going to say too much about it. The sword is from the Empire wizard box set :D Yeah the scouts are a little off, but had to models and wanted to make use of them! The Scouts are basically a 100pt Teleport homer and suck at it in reality. The scouts will be armed with Pistols, CCW's, a Missile and a power weapon. The Tau commander will keep his Positional relay so I get the 2+ reserve roll :) The scouts will then sit with the Tau, moving forward to counter any incomming assaults. GI Joker Posted March 12, 2010 Share Posted March 12, 2010 I saw your dread on the 'What's New Today' before I came over here, congrats. I like all of your conversions, very dynamic. The only exception is the scout firing his bolter and leaning away from it as though he is afraid of the muzzle. When you fire a weapon (effectively, at least,) you lean into the recoil, not away.
