Ultra Tactical Squad WIP

Some of you have probably seen the lancer marine lancer marine that i made/painted. He is the first member of a ten man tac squad. So far he is finished and i finished the blue on the meltagunner. Here's a (bad) pic of the two. I'll try to update regularly.

It seemed cool to put two studded pads on him when i assembled... in hindsight it wasn't the best idea :)

Anyways, should I make all the studs gold? What do you think? Better pics soon (probably when i finish the meltagunner)

How did you paint the blue? I like it.

 

I would paint the studs silver. the rest of the marine has a very practical/tactical feel. I'd keep the gold on the trim.

Wow I'm really fancying that blue you've achieved. I like the scribing the marine on the right has. And I find the ammo-packs on the chest interesting.

The extreme highlights definitely make it look electrical :P

Necron Abyss on armor

 

Regal Blue on armor

 

50/50 regal blue/ultramarine blue fat around the edges.

 

Ultramarine blue on the edges

 

Space wolves gray for extreme highlights.

I think the blue is great but in relation to the corvus marine I think it may be an idea to carefully cut/file the spots off of the right pad then it would look more mk6 as the beakies back then had no trim to their shoulder pads.
