Something I must know.

After purchasing my lovely Venerable Dreadnought this past weekend I've been thinking of different ways to use him and I thought it would be awesome to run him and an Iron Priest to repair any WD or Imobilized results he might suffer. Then I read that he must be in base contact to do this. Since he's not an IC he cannot get into base contact with another unit? I was going to convert my own Iron Priest but if I won't be able to do this because of the above problem then Im not going to bother. Anyone care to confirm my fears?

This may be one of those things I take for granted, but I didn't think there was a prohibition on models from the same side touching each other. I know that models from different armies can't touch outside of assaults, and that bases can't overlap, but I'm reasonably certain that friendly models can move into base contact.

If there is a "no touching!" rule, someone please point me to it. I don't think it's ever come up in one of my games, but I'd like to be on the right side if we meet in the future.

ok what i use him for is............hide behind Bjorn with 4 cyber wolves and 3 servitors (general T5) , if you repair Bjorn more than once , youve done your job , and if you dont and Bjorn is killed , at least you can counter attack the unit that killed it (if in CC)

nien nien nien. even as an independent character he can be as close as he wants. he just cant join a vehicle into a squad or such. also hes on your side.

iron priest can if on a thunderwolf give you a strong punch with his built in powerfist or whatever his wargear is.

there is no rule preventing you to put your own units in b2b. Check BGB 11, models in the way. You may not move a model unto space occupied by another model, but that's about it..

i dont use iron priest, but if i would i'd probably just put him in the LR and get him the extra D3 movement. Can't say that it's an insane tactical advantage, but it sounds fun :D besides 12" deploy, 12"move, D3 bonus, 2" deploy and 6" assault is pretty insane. i'm pretty sure you can give someone a heart attack with that..

aun contrai mi amigo.

if you want to truely be an arse.

line your land raider up horizontal to the 12 inch mark. when your turn begins turn 90 degrees to face your opponent. this gives you maybe 2-3 inches extra move 12 + d3 get out assault.

so were looking at 12+3-6 a 21 inch movement depending on how long the land raider is
