AcidBurn
Hail and well met brothers! i have been away from the fang for a while whilst embarking on other projects but now i have returned, and i hope you are all well. as i recall my last post was on my Wulfen out of the new beastmen doombull, and rather than committing the dreaded threadromancy i decided to start a new topic. well i have finished the build and have primed him and i would very much like to know what you all think of him http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w122/greatjojoman/DSC_0024-1.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w122/greatjojoman/DSC_0025-1.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w122/greatjojoman/DSC_0026-1.jpg in my haste to get him primed i neglected to allow the greenstuff to dry on his "mane" and as a result squished it and mase it a wee bit of a mess but i shall sort that out today. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w122/greatjojoman/DSC_0027.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w122/greatjojoman/DSC_0028-1.jpg i would love it if people could give me feedback about the feet, as i have never sculpted them before. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w122/greatjojoman/DSC_0029-1.jpg ................................................................................. i also decided to stick a small rare earth magnet in the base so i could mount it on a dreadnought base and use him as a counts as TWC http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w122/greatjojoman/DSC_0030-1.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w122/greatjojoman/DSC_0031-1.jpg http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w122/greatjojoman/DSC_0032-1.jpg im going to add some cork to the dread base and some texturing so it does not look as if its is simply standing on a dread base Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194405-lone-wolf-wulfen/ Share on other sites
milmaa
I think he looks awesome, cant wait to see him all painted up! nice trick with the base too! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194405-lone-wolf-wulfen/#findComment-2311869 Share on other sites
Natanael
Yeh. Really nice. I'd like to get a closer look with more light at the head, since that might prove to be your undoing in my opinion. He is a bull after all, from the start. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194405-lone-wolf-wulfen/#findComment-2312035 Share on other sites
SpaceWolf13C
that is SICK!!!! paint it quick! about the feet, i think they look pretty good but he seems to lack some arch in his feet, he is definately going to need some dr. scholls after a long day of beast slaying Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194405-lone-wolf-wulfen/#findComment-2312051 Share on other sites
hendrik
while i absolutly hate the idea of such evolved wulfen to be still space wolves i'm looking forward to how you'll paint him up=)can't really speak out over the conversion work, yet;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194405-lone-wolf-wulfen/#findComment-2312266 Share on other sites
Schertenleib
while i absolutly hate the idea of such evolved wulfen to be still space wolves i'm looking forward to how you'll paint him up=)can't really speak out over the conversion work, yet;) It is a Lone Wolf Wulfen. The beast has taken control and he is still on the hunt. I would suggest either making a point of keeping all of your other units at least 12" away as if they are trying to keep their distance lest he turn on them. AcidBurn
@Natanael : i think the head is in a suitable position and the staff at my local GW agree, but yeah i will post some close up pics of his head later tonight @SpaceWolf13C : yeah i tried to give the feet an arch but it failed miserabley lol @Schertenleib : you are half right on that one, the idea is that he is a lone wolf wulfen that by some random quirk of fate has retained most of his memories (monster on the outside mostly marine on the inside) i will elaborate more with my fluff soon. TiguriusX
The berserker rage of the Wulfen is fitting for a LW. He may keep the inner beast at bay under normal conditions but when he enters close quarters combat he goes into a killing frenzy and doesn't distinguish between friend and foe. Due to this he hunts alone. He isn't a complete monster but the members of his Great Company know to keep a wide berth when the killing starts. I think one of my hypothetical builds LW builds included TDA, a combi-plasma (relentless from TDA means rapid fire then assault) and a storm shield. He had the armor and ranged weaponary and the mark of the wulfen allows him to tear through hordes. As long as he doesn't run into a dreadnaught he should cause a respectable amount of havoc Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194405-lone-wolf-wulfen/#findComment-2318677 Share on other sites
