Kill Team

So now that battle missions is out, has anyone else played the new kill team? It's pretty fun, def. nice to be able to play a game of 40k in under an afternoon. First game I took a Lone Wolf, some Ferensian wolves, and a 5 man grey hunter pack and did okay. The Lone Wolf was the bullet magnet I expected him to be since I did put him in TDA with a storm bolter and a single claw. Even though I won, I think next game I might take 5 wolves, 5 GH with a flamer, and 5 scouts with bolters and either a heavy bolter or a missile launcher as my friend playing sisters like to take tanks even at 200 points.

So, what are other people's kill team games like? And if you haven't played it, give it a try!

i'd field a lone wolf in TDA, SS and TH, and some sky claws or swiftclaws

give the lone wolf the fleet USR and he becomes a maniac i believe

whats the fleet USR?

You can give 3 guys 3 different Universal Special Rules in Kill Team.

Fleet is what all the Eldar and what not have which allows you to assault after you run.

Yeah, the mission says you should put as much terrain on the board as possible. So scouts with move through cover are pretty good. I dunno about the all CC lone wolf in TDA. That's a lot of points, and with having to make it through all that terrain it might take him a while to get into CC.

We had 4 people at the store who wanted to play so we did a 2X2 game, IG with a chimera and troops with allot of flamers, and DA scouts with an inquisitor with sycannon. My side was 5GH with one PG, 5 wolf scouts and 5 wolfs, and 6 WG, 1 with TDA cyclone and pf, one with mark of wolfen, 2 with bolters, and 1 PW, plus one plain in PA.

The WG in TDA took out the chimera first shoot and dumped the guard out for a long walk across the table. Other than that the star of the game was the 5 wolves, their movement and assault range are great, they took out 2/3 thirds of the enemy by them selves.

I'm a bit confused...

what happened to the goons and the boss and all the cool stealth mission type stuff?

Is Kill Team the new name for 40k in 40 minutes? From what I can gather from the discussions in here, it looks as though it's turned into a Kill Team vs Kill Team thing. I haven't had a chance to buy the book yet but I plan on getting it next week. Anyone can give me some general info (as in: non IP breaking) about the new system for this?

Kill Team is part of the Battle Missions book, a scenario of 200 pts that turns 40k back to a small skirmish game. <-- The basics; there are extra rules like giving USRs to certain models or, IIRC, each model operating independantly, rather than in squads.
