-JK-
So this is my first post here... I basically wanted some tips and opinions on my painting of my "Relictors" (only Relictors in terms of colour scheme, all Chapter symbols and history is ignored...). This guy is one of my better examples Any comments/recommendations, etc. gladly accepted JK http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/ae75/kennedyjr754/Relictors%20Space%20Marines/IMG_5107.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/ae75/kennedyjr754/Relictors%20Space%20Marines/IMG_5104.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/ae75/kennedyjr754/Relictors%20Space%20Marines/IMG_5111.jpg Oh, also, if you think the paint looks a bit grainy, that's because he's a bit dusty... sisko11
Looks pretty good! pics at this size are really unforgiving and it is holding up pretty well. I think you could use 1 or 2 extra steps from your basecoat colors, the highlights transition fairly well, but there is a marked jump in color in the darks. Other than that, looking good! Krucious Arkanadae
Looking great, a pointer i can give you is for the purity seals. Go out and buy a micro pen and use that to write on them, it turns out really nice Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194565-relictors-ish/#findComment-2314729 Share on other sites
g-relk
The way i modelled my Relictors army was with lots of damage. this represents how they would actually appear fluff wise after they were attacked by the grey knights, and are still limping away from near total destruction. otherwise everything looks great to me. i would have done the grey a bit darker personally, but the painting itself is great. Fire Lord Captain
Great job on the eye lenses and also interesting to see how you highlighted "backwards" by starting with a light grey and then adding the darker greys. I like em! Maybe a tad too many purity seals for my taste but thats just personal opinion. Brother 'Ussell
Pretty good quality I'd say, IMO when your painting at a level above tabletop quality though you should really make sure to get rid of all the mold lines. they really hurt the final result. Talhydras
looks pretty good! I bought a bunch of old bolter myself, because I had the same idea for a tactical squad ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194565-relictors-ish/#findComment-2317641 Share on other sites
McNs
Great work man! Killer job on the eyes and on the targetor lense. That said, I agree with Sisko: its probably due to the photography, but the grey highlight transitions look to be a little rough. That's one small issue with an otherwise outstanding mini. Keep it up! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194565-relictors-ish/#findComment-2319453 Share on other sites
