Sevano Tomasin
If ya still want names from books, I've got some. (First post on ultramarines forum!) Ok, from the book Fire Warrior (it isn't to hand, but I've remebered 2 names) Techmarine Archellus - not sure if he's KIA or not. It says he's near to an IW's bomb that blows up, but it doesn't say whether he survives or not. MIA Vet. Srgt Titus, 3rd comp (I think thats how the name is spelt). His combat squad is with the above techmarine. Again, MIA, for same above reasons Theres also a Librarian that goes insane and then gets eaten- I can't remeber the name, any help? Others : Techmarine Servano Tomasin is annhilated by (his) melta bombs. Since I've only read this in Inferno, I don't take it as canon. Its lies, LIES I TELL YE! :D Harkus is his apprentice. Yes, he is the one that destroys the thunderhawk for a deathwatch mission. Techmarine Vulkan - reference in an old EoT campaign web-article on the GW. Said article has since been deleted by GW, so you might not want to put him in. Predator "Gladus" fixture to the 1st company. Index Astartes IV /WD article on Predators. Just out of curiosity, which book is one with the trial in it? The one where we see both Sicarius and Pythea? Its just I don't recall it being in Warriors of Ultramar or Dead Sky Black Sun. Oh and spoiler : Uriel and Passanius at the end of the new book arrive back safe and sound outside the Fortress of Hera. The next book (if there is one) will sort out what happens next. Another question, why does Sicarius move from 5th comp to 2nd? Surely it would make more sense for Ardias to move to the 2nd, Ideas/Ventris to move the the 3rd.....and so on? I can't find anything that says why it was done like that. I hope that helped. The Emperor's Champion
Sicarius was more awesome than the other 8 Captains and thus was promoted to the 2nd when Agemman got promoted. It'd be silly to rotate all the Captains every time one dies. They fight better with men they've come to know personally, so it's better to just promote the one most deserving one. Plus Ardias was dead at the time. Still gonna need an actual quote from that book before I believe they ever actually land on Macragge since most accounts of the book that I've read says it ends with them flying. Sevano Tomasin
It's in the new ULtramarines "novel". Courage and honour? The one with (what I think is) Ventris on the front cover, hugging his bolter infront of a destroyed Tau...thing. Go on the BL web page, you can read a chapter (I honestly have no idea if its the first chapter, or the 21nd tbh :D ) If I understood correctly, Srgt Lecharus (sp?) promised to look after the 4th and rebuild it whilst Ventris was clearly not escaping death, and once Ventris and Passanius come back, Lecharus hands it back over to him. However, the only mention of Passanius is when the chapter (of the book, not the ultramarines ;) ) goes back in time to when Ventris and Passanius arrive back at the fortress of Hera, and are met by Calgar, Cassisus and Varro. Passanius is not in any other part of the chapter.... Ophidicus
'Ere, does anyone know of any definitive background that says (Mikael) Fabian is currently, at this fluff-time, 999M41, Captain of the Ultramarines' 3rd Co.? Cos I've thought of a much more interesting role for him... The Emperor's Champion
Fluff time is technically 002.M42+ All indications seem to have Fabian as 3rd Captain. The Emperor's Champion
lol Why? All I'm saying is Ventris has wandered into .M42 a bit, but I haven't kept track of how far it progressed after DSBS (002 last I checked). Marshal Rohr
Warhammer 40,000 actually takes place in 40,001? Well it is GW, the timeline murderers. Just so everyone knows, Robin Cruddace has decided that 742.M41 was too early for the Damocles Gulf Crusade and bumped it up to 988.M41 (or somewhere around there). Instead of being called off for Behemoth it was called off for Leviathan. Yes. I am not lying. They have managed to ruin ever bit of fluff about the most influential Tau commanders in one small blurb. FML. Generating Random Name...
Just thought I'd say in the book dead sky black sun Uriel and Pasanius had a death oath and this meant that they were banished until they completed it or died in the attempt. So if they succeeded then they were allowed back in to the chapter I won't say whether they did cause that would ruin the story Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194589-complete-list-of-every-named-ultramarine/page/5/#findComment-2022752 Share on other sites
Tranc
In Graham McNeil's latest Ultramarines novel (Courage and Honour), captain Sicarius is characterized as being critical of Uriel for his deviation from the Codex. The similarity between McNeil's portrayal of Sicarius in the novel, and his portrayal of Pythea in the short story, lead me to believe that McNeil was trying to revise what happened at Uriel's trial, i.e., that it was Sicarius who was prosecuting Uriel the whole time. Incidently, I find McNeil's portrayal of Sicarius to be completely at odds with Nick Kyme's depiction of him in the Assault on Black Reach novella, but that's a separate continuity issue ;-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194589-complete-list-of-every-named-ultramarine/page/5/#findComment-2022801 Share on other sites
Balroth
Incidently, I find McNeil's portrayal of Sicarius to be completely at odds with Nick Kyme's depiction of him in the Assault on Black Reach novella, but that's a separate continuity issue ;-) I know exactly what you mean. Sicarius is a big style Ventris rip-off. At least I assume Ventris came first. It could hardly be more blatant, really. -B Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194589-complete-list-of-every-named-ultramarine/page/5/#findComment-2023358 Share on other sites
