RAW the thunder hammers 'stun' rule reduces the models I value to 1 until the end of the next turn. says nothing about it only being for attacking.

well good thing that has nothing to do with it, read like the first page in the rulebook on characteristic tests. it says you take characteristic tests WITHOUT any modifiers. so no, you cant thunderhammer someone and than JOTWW them. they take characteristic tests on their I whatever it may be. same thing as someone doing sweeping advances with a TH, they dont role for 1+D6..........think about it guys

where?

p 8 BRB

Characteristic test

'during a battle, a model might have to take a tet on one of its characteristics, commonly its Str, T or I. For example it may have to test its T to resist the effects of a lethal gas.

In order to take the test, roll a D6. T succeed, you must score equal to or lower than the value of the characteristic involved. Note that if a 6 is rolled, then the model automatically fails the test regradless of the characteristic's value or any other modifiers that might apply, conversely a 1 is always a success.

Of course, if a model has to take a test for one of its characteristics with a value of 0, it automatically fails.'

thats the entire section on characteristc tests, i cannot see where it says that you never use a modified stat?

with regards to testing at I1 for sweeping advances if wielding a thunder hammer/powerfist then obviouly no you don't, you test at I4 (o higher if a character) becuase the thunder hammer/powerfist specify that the models attacks are 'always delivered at I1'.

Thunder Hammers have the following special rule,

'... all models that suffer an unsaved wound from a thunder hammer and are not killed will be knocked reeling, reducing their I value to 1 until the end of the next player's turn...'

as you can see, that doesn't specify anything about being for attacks only, merely that the models I value becomes 1 for the next turn, if the model were then required to make an I test, say for Hit & Run, or sweeping advance then they would test at I1. Things like Furious Charge make specific mention being when the model attacks, and even states that it dos not count for sweeping advances.

no where that i can see does it state that modifiers are ignored when making characteristic test, if you could please quote that for me as I am obviously missing it and would like to know where to point my opponent sould something like this arise.
