Rune Priest Ridcully
How do you make your justicars stand out from the average Grey Knight in power armour? I model unusual weapons on them, an axe and lightning claw shaped one the ones I use, I have converted one with a scyth but it did not turn out well. and am thinking about building one with a trident, that and right shouder pad is the studded pad or the company champions one. So how do you do yours? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194847-justricars/ Share on other sites

jeffersonian000
Oddly enough, its the same for me and I have 4 squads of PAGK. I just use the actual Justicar model as a ... Justicar. However, I did create unique shoulder heraldry for each Justicar, and I split the different PAGK models into separate squads composed of only one model type yet with different arms and arm positions. Gives each squad a distinct look even though all of the Justicars are identical. The emperors chosen
Well the Brettonian Knight box has a ton of shields, so giving a justicar one is a great way to make him stick out. - 7eAL -
Here's a list of possible ideas: Cloaks:Cut out a bit of copper foil, attach across Justicar's back. Sculpt cloth over it for a cloak like the kinds worn by Black Templar Sword Bretheren. Cut a square of flattened putty. Drape over Justicar's back, lift and push for various forms. Carve out scaled cloak from Dark Eldar Corsairs plastic torso, attach to Justicar's back. Clip away flaring cloak from Space Marine Captain plastic caped torso, attatch to Justicar's back. [*]Tabards: Extend tabard downward and widen. File away case on chest, extend tabard upward to collar for a Crusade era tabard like the kinds worn by the Black Templar. [*]Backpacks: Replace backpack with plastic Apothecary backpack from plastic Space Marine Command Squad kits. Replace backpack with plastic eagle head backpack from Space Marine Captain kits. Replace backpack with plastic squad sergeant backpack from Space Marine Devastator kits. [*]Arm and weapon swaps: Sword blade replaces halberd blade, or claws replace hand, flail head replaces halberd blade. Add a banner to the halberd shaft for a squad standard image, in the same manner as above: sculpt over copper foil. Add an offhand knife to the storm bolter hand, taken from the plastic Space Marine kits. Plastic Space Marine hand replaces weapon hand, modify to taste with wargear items or a dead Daemon head. Glue on clear nylon fishing wire hanging from weapon ends and thicken with cyanoacrylate superglue for flowing liquids. Glaze with clear red and dark washes for blood. [*]Wargear: Add meltabombs taken from plastic Space Marine kits. Add auspex taken from any Imperial plastic kits. Add scroll canisters taken from plastic Space Marine kits. Add books and tomes taken from plastic Dark Angels kits. [*]Enemies: Add eviscerated Possessed or Spawn plastic body parts to the base. Add hollowed and broken Chaos Marine helmets taken from plastic Chaos Marine kits, decapitated heads taken from plastic Zombie kits, or skulls to the base. Add a corpse to the base. Add a skeleton to the base. Add crushed chaos spikes and broken Chaos emblems from plastic Chaos vehicle kits to base. [*]Bodyswaps: Replace Justicar's torso with Black Templars Emperor's Champion torso. Replace Justicar's legs with Emperor's Champion legs. Space Marine Techmarine counts as Justicar. Replace Techmarine boltgun with storm bolter. Replace Techmarine left pauldron with Grey Knight pauldron. Black Templars Emperor's Champion counts as Justicar. Add storm bolter to Emperor's Champion left arm. Shields have been covered. Sculpting can also get much more complicated.
