Rhino Modifications

Recommended Posts

So while I was waiting on replies for this topic, ( http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=194876 ), I started work on my Rhino modifications.

For starters, here are some pics of my assault cannon replacement for the standard storm bolter.

Let me know what you think!

Any further suggestions and ideas are welcome

It is still very much work in progress: I was going to do a breach when I get around to mixing up some green stuff for some other stuff I need to do.

As far as the ammo box is concerned, that's the smallest box I've got. I'm quite tempted to just run a belt feed from one of the massive ammo boxes off the dreadnaught assault cannon arm!

If anyone has any ideas as to what to do for the rest of it; don't hesitate to inspire me!

Just realized: Shave off the mold lines! ;)

How about a bomb loaded rhino. Gives a whole new meaning to sacrifial squad.

Also u ever seen the newest Death Race film? U know the RPG rockets that Joe has in the last race? Try and do that with the IG chimera hunterkillers... Would be pure epic win.

Haha... not sure I'm into the kamikaze Rhino idea...

And no, I haven't seen the new Death Race, only the original one so I'm afraid I'm not familiar with what you're referring to, Valius. Sounds pretty dangerous though...

I think I've decided to go with an 'open hatch' look, and rather than change the assault cannon to be belt fed, I want to put a marine in the back who is loading up new boxes of rounds for the guy blamming away up in the top. I plan to have this guy working overtime and being showered with shell cases everywhere!

Below is a sort of mock-up of what I intend to try.

Anyone got any opinions on this?

Yeah I would say don't go down the route of suicide rhino. I posted a link in your other thread in the PCA section about someone shooting out of a side hatch, but I really like what you are doing here. Something very different to anything I have seen before, and you are executing it very nicely.

UPDATE:

Here's a couple of pics of the starting development of the marine in the back. Nothing immensely exciting, but it may be of interest to some.

Will keep this thread updated with lots more (interesting!) pics, as and when the Rhino develops.

Back hatch guy is now pretty much finished in terms of assembly.

Here he is:
