Ntin
What are people’s opinions on the new Battle Missions? I like most of them simply because it breaks up the 3 mission paradigm so the meta-game becomes more difficult but a few are kind of wonky for Chaos Daemons. The Invasion mission interests me the most it takes the army in a different direction with the 12” portal and the further 6” of doom, which really takes up a huge amount of real-estate on the table giving the Chaos Daemon player a huge degree of mobility and initiative. I am not sure about Fight to the Death however giving your opponent stubborn really drags out combats, against high leadership troops (like the ever popular Space Marine LD9) combat will drag on for a while. Vertebrae
I like them. They do deviate from the standard mission, and are pretty fun to play. One thing I like about them is that you can bring any list and play with it, unlike Planet Strike. Seahawk
I like them all. Tried fight to the death, and what that is is just the old 2nd edition games we used to play: unending turn limit, fight til one side is dead. Awesome and fun. Besides, bloodletters just roll over any unit that would take an Ld check for losing...can't pass the morale if they're all dead... Primarch16
I like the battle missions! Nice and smooth gaming, nothing that requires an entire host of new models, rules or scenery. Got a chance to play a daemons new daemons mission (nightfight) was good fun, the odd deployment from my enemy was handy as it makes it difficult to co-ordinate attacks. The whole nightfight didnt have too much of an effect though, since all the fighting was very up close (as wth most daemon games) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/194986-battle-missions/#findComment-2324432 Share on other sites
