Roachboy
i do like, never been a fan of the eagle back pack though. The freehand isn't too bad by the way, a lot better than any of my efforts If i had to criticize, i'd say the highlights are a little thick... Other than that awesome job :) edit: scorch mark the melta barrel, always a good look Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/195189-test-mini-for-ba/#findComment-2323347 Share on other sites
Terminatorinhell
Very well done, the highlights could be a mite thinner but the free hand is far better than what I can do! Myxx
Your gold looks very good. I really dig the shoulder pad, it looks a lot better than the golds I paint. tahrikmili
I think it's fantastic but the gold could use some shining gold highlights. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/195189-test-mini-for-ba/#findComment-2323686 Share on other sites
IronKobra
I think he looks nice, but I dont think you're highlghts are too thick, just too soon. Seem to jump from a deep purple/red right to orange without another brighter red in between. Leonatas
mech red ,devian mud wash ,then red gore ,blood red ,blazing orange but i agree with sudden diference between the dark and highlights this was done purposly as practice and i will be making two pots of 1:1 and 1:2 of red gore and blood red soon to soften the transition right now i am just working models up to just the devian wash for now and thanks for your comments so far keep it coming Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/195189-test-mini-for-ba/#findComment-2324303 Share on other sites

icallitsoda
Nice painting but I wonder where's the blood red in the mix? Like the others say it goes from purple to orange Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/195189-test-mini-for-ba/#findComment-2324866 Share on other sites
Leonatas
sorry my cam sucks it goes from gore red from the armour to pure blood red highlights Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/195189-test-mini-for-ba/#findComment-2324906 Share on other sites
Pirate Metal Troy
I don't think the highlights are too thick, or "too soon". In fact, i like to do my models that way so that the lines stand out on the tabletop. If this was meant to be a GD mini, then you'd all be right, but if this army is getting played, then it's perfect. I'd leave it out altogether. It's not necessary either. Mech red and blood red will do the trick for you. Corbulo
Very good over all. Nice red, good highlighting, very good for table top. One thing though, the cape is missing something, the drops are nice but I think if you added some trim lines or a pattern (one of the new White Dwarves shows how to do this) and I think you could stamp DONE on this guy.
