Hear da Lamentation
Just wondering how the brothers are finding the new pesky Tervigons? I've had a 3 games experience with them now ... and am finding them a real challenge. In an objective based game (which has been every one so far) I've been struggling to see how you can do better than a draw (which I have managed both times through some fortuitously short games :P ). With 2 of them, pooping out 2 lots of 3d6 troops, who can appear 6" away, move, shoot and assault in the turn they appear ... you just can't kill them quickly enough. And that's if you ignore all those other nasty 'Nids ... which lets face it ... isn't a good idea anyway. Obviously they do stop after a roll of a double (although they still get those little blighters) - but my guess is that statistically they are going to get on average 25 pooped out before that happens (I haven't done any mathshammer there .. just my gut feeling.) The tervigons themselves have an impressive 6T and 6W - so no quick killing. They are no slouches in combat either. On a plus side they have Init 1 which is good for JoWW. Great for kill points of course ... but that's only a 1/3 chance. Whats your experiences been? H.D.L. servitob
Yeah these guys are funny... played against one once - pooped out 14 before getting a blockage. They seem to just be a big fat tar pit after that, probably best to ignore them and concentrate on more dangerous stuff! Hear da Lamentation
Exactly. But in objective games, they count as troops. With 30-40 extra troops (with 2 Tervigons) in nice sized bunches ... that a BIG advantage in objective grabbing. Natanael
I've been up against a single on in two games. No big deal, really. I make him eat MLs or melta/plasma or just charge him with a GH pack and kill him =D Termagaunts die quick anyway so :P To be honest I've had no trouble at all with him. Might be that my opponent didnt get to, sitting behind cover and pooping gaunts. I just dont feel it is that strong since gaunts die from bolters/bolt pistols+charge. Ignore and gain free movement (charge on gaunts) or shoot to death with AP1-3 stuff. Wispy
Tervigon and the Saga of the Warrior Born are best friends. Put a Lord on a Thunderwolf, and he will build up more attacks then he has term models. When you get enough attacks from the the babies the Tervigon has made, unleash the attacks on Tervigon directly, and there is a good chance you'll kill it outright. ORKILL
JoWW was made for Tervigons. Drop pod in and JoWW it. I have knocked out 3 so far using this tactic. All three times I have also managed to get another MC as well. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/195361-tervigons/#findComment-2325904 Share on other sites
