Meatman
http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x267/mightymwatt/100_0602.jpg I got a little bored of the standard cloaked snipers, so I decided to try something a little different. You know the left over body in the sniper scout box that has a sniper rifle that goes with it? Well, you have no extra legs to assemble it into a proper scout. You get heads spare so that's not a problem. Essentially, this is a cheap and good looking way to get an extra sniper. Using a cheap foliage substitute (I got mine from my local store called Model Junction for about £1.49) such as this: http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x267/mightymwatt/100_0609.jpg http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x267/mightymwatt/100_0616.jpg It literally just pulls apart in your hand so you can use as little or much as you need. You can easily make a bush of sorts for your little leg-less scout to hide in. I wanted mine to look like he was standing, about to move out to take a shot, so I mounted him on piece of foam I had in my garage but you can chose what you like to increase his height. No-one will see as the foliage will hide it. Now on to the assembling! Leave plenty of time to dry between dry between stages. Stage 1: Using a glue suitable for your mounting, glue the mounting to the base (I used PVA glue) Stage 2: Glue your scout, pre assembled (and primed if you are going to spray paint it), to the top of your mounting Stage 3: Break off your foliage into pieces and use PVA to glue around the basing, and your scout. Make him as hidden as you want. Stage 4: Go back over with watered down PVA to ensure the foliage stays glued to your scout and the mounting. Stage 5: Paint! tombo
Genius! Why didn't I think of that? I always have that problem (not enough legs) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/195451-adding-a-different-feel-to-scouts/#findComment-2326920 Share on other sites

Tropicana
Absolutely fantastic! Really appeals to those of us who want the most from a Boxed Set! Having been drawing in by Chaos - ''Do You Hear The Voices Too? !!!'' - I won't really have much opportunity to field Scouts. Unless - exclusively for Friendly Matches - I Model some Traitor Scouts, use the Loyalist Rules, and see what happens! Oooh, so tempting! Tropicana :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/195451-adding-a-different-feel-to-scouts/#findComment-2358496 Share on other sites
ToberiousTheValiant
That is a fantastic idea. I'm definitely going to do that with my snipers. I probably never would have thought of that. Kudos. hmk17
Seen something like that in an Apocalypse game. The massive Nid army advanced, leaving 5 Ultramarine Scouts behind to snag one of the rear objectives... Everyone thought they were terrain until the guy split them up and moved them. Undeniably looks cool though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/195451-adding-a-different-feel-to-scouts/#findComment-2394082 Share on other sites
