I've just started on my sniper Scout squad ans bear in mind that this is my first attempt at yellow, my paintbrush sucks and I only have seven paints and a spray paint can (black). No washes for the moment either. Anyway, here it goes! (sorry for the messy painting. I have no black to cover it up!) It's a test mini, so I'm not sure if I'll change the recipie or not ;) Anyway, I did: Chaos Black primer Couple of layers of Bubonic Brown Couples of layers of 1:1 mix Bubonic Brown and Sunburst Yellow Wash of Warlock Purple in the nooks and crannies (I did a few as it was too watered down, but one should be enough) Another layer of the mix above (not yet done, as I don't have the right paintbrush) Highlight of Sunburst Yellow on the edges Cheers! Seneschal of the Seventh Posted March 23, 2010 Share Posted March 23, 2010 Painting yellow over a black basecoat... you are far braver than me my friend :) I like the mix you've cooked up, it's not a bright lemon yellow, but it's also not brown (which I can't stand). Just a nice middle tone. I can't see much of the effects of the purple wash, but I'm sure it will look quite spectacular once there is more detail picked out for it to offset. This is a conversion as I used the body of a sniper scout.
