Bits Box Bash

Well brothers with my faith in the Sons Of Russ nearly fully restored and feeling inspired whilst listening to some Manowar I decided to build a Wolf Guard Battle Leader. however my bits box was looking rather low after my recent inquisitor binge and other random conversions, so i set about looking for some suitable bits. I opened my wardrobe (which was over flowing with sprue and terrain) and what should fall out and land at my feet but a bag of really nice Space Wolf conversion bits that I had put away for a rainy day and forgotten about.

Well after much musing and thinking I came out with this little gem

The wolf claws are from our very own Canis Wolfborn and I thought that they looked suitably over sized and dangerous so naturally they were a must have, the backpack is from Mr Ragnar Blackmane (i found that backpack on the floor of my local GW and was like hell yeah, keeps!). The legs are from a khrone berserker sprue i think, and the body and head are from our new box set.

As we all know the body i used is that stupid one designed for the heads with the flat bottom, so i had to scrape away until the head fit properly.

His left arm was a bit funny as well, as people who have the Canis model will already know the shoulder pad is kind of in half, so i had to clip and file it down so a normal shoulder pad would fit over the top and then fix it in place with greenstuff.

As the legs are running or darting to the side i really wanted to give him a sense of movement so the cape was a must (do not fear brothers it shall be getting fur sculpted tomorrow when the greenstuff has cured)

I really tried to get a good dynamic pose so i tried to angle the claws as if he was barging/guarding with his right claw and pulling back ready to stab/slash with his left.

I think his legs look a bit bare myself so I might add some wolf tails and runes at a later date.

What does everybody think? not bad considering ive just come up off a downer eh?

C&C are more that welcome

you know what guys i think that head is staying firstly for the slight comedy factor and for what Grey Mage said

"Nah, it came off really well actually, the hair flow is perfect for the pose, and his angry-man face is right on with the bodylanguage."

when you said "angry-man face" it made me chuckle.

well ive done the greenstuffing on the cape and added some fur trim to his boots

i think il leave him ready to undercoat now as any more modifications would spoil him

also for anyone who has the Canis claws and wants to bend them in a way which suits them, be careful as they will fracture and snap very easily.

c&c welcome
