How is this? And does it work:

 

You buy 10 wolf guards. "For every five models in the squad, one wolf guard may chose one of the following."

 

I think no, but could you give one model both a cyclone missile launcher and an assault canon?

no because that would be one wolf guard taking two of the following. basically any wolf guard allowed to take a heavy weapon would be able to chose just one from the list.

That's what I figured. However it can be read in a way that for each five man in the squad one of your wolf guards can do this, and you chose the same one twice.

 

It would not be very good, but it would be a cool model.

well it says you may chose one o the following, then states you replace the storm bolter with all the heavy weapons except the CML. so even if you could choose two of the same weapons you don't have two storm bolters to swap out so the only thing you could even try and get would be two CML... which obviously would be more than the one your allowed :D

Well actually no - if You start with the CML. You first pick CML, because You don't swap out anything, and then You have SB, PW and CML, which technically allows You to swap the SB, which You still have, for AC or HF. But I don't think that's whtat the rules imply.

It clearly says 1 in 5 if you have 10 models it would be 2 in 10, whats so hard to understand about that.

Actually, the main problem with that setup is that second heavy weapon, that youve spent so many points to unlock, couldnt be fired at the same time as the first heavy weapon- because infantry, unlike say dreads, can only fire one weapon a turn. The CML gives an exception to this- in the case of stormbolters, but not in the case of assault cannons, heavy flamers, or another CML.

Aha GM. So the CML will not function with a combi weapon eather? I used to play it with a melta coming out of a DP but no more i figure. :D Oh well.

Eh, its a nice option to have that C-M, but yeah... the entry just says stormbolters.
