Kjarl Bluetooth
I would use the steam knight head Please don't - they might work for Thousand Sons or Dark Angels but they don't for Space Wolves. He's riding a Thunderwolf so make him bare headed - there are plenty to chose from in both the Wolf Guard and Wolf Pack boxes. no what do we get, almost 20 unheleted ones, all but a quater of which look silly, and the heleted ones, apart from the nice wolf and beakie ones seem a little off The imagery has always been un-helmeted warriors - with their enhanced powers of sight and smell they don't need the helmets! Yes, I know it seems mad to forego a helmet in a "modern" war but hey they're Space Wolves and harder than nails! There are a few bum choices in there (I'm looking at you scout heads and especially you with the L'Oreal hairstyle) but the majority are great. where did the whole "Space Wolves are idiots, they don't like helets" stuff come from, I am sure I didn't see it in the 2nd or 3rd edition codexs. Really!! Check your codex again because the Logan, Ragnar, Njal, half of the metal WG and LF figures and GH and BC sergeants are all from 2e and come with bare heads. Accept the fact that Space Wolves don't like helmets - it's what makes us different to the rest. By the way, double check the latest BA sprues - they got 5 Sanguinary and 3 Death Company bare heads to chose from. For them it's about emphasising their Romano-Greek look - reminiscent of statues - just as our look is about emphasising the "barbarian". wiplash
as long as he is bare headed then its fine. wolf lords should be bare headed always imo, a very wolfy tradition modeling/art wise so just collect a bunch of heads, there are a few in the new boxes ;) then just play around with heads and positioning until you find 3-5 that you really like then go with your gut instinct, or post again :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/195871-opinions-wanted/page/2/#findComment-2335916 Share on other sites
NuclearMessiah
I always felt that they would have a hard time fitting all that facial hair into a helmet anyways. Hence why they are not wearing any and the whole enhanced senses thing as well.
