Snozz
Ah-ha, Searchy comes up trumps. I've been looking at the BA Successors, specifically ones that aren't all red, because most of them seem to be the same colour, but with different shoulder pad trims. Anyways, I have a couple of questions I'm hoping some BA enthusiasts might know the answer to. Firstly about the Red Wings and the Blood Legion, can anyone describe their colour scheme in more detail? So far I've only been able to find the Lexicanum description of "Red with diagonal blue tiger stripes" (As the OP stated), so I'm guessing they're only mentioned briefly in one source. Does anyone know anything else about them for that matter? :) Secondly, about the Red Wings. The OP mentions they are Pale Snow coloured with Ruby. What do people think this means scheme wise? Off white armour, with red shoulder trim and helmet? Any suggestions on what would look good? Thanks in advance, any help on the schemes and / or background would be most welcome. Bix
Having now had time to digest the Codex Fluff a little better I find myself siding with your view Vodunius. Tis maybe better for the BD's not to be 2nd founding, it adds a certain something and allows greater scope for fan fluff. Though they are going to have to be a fairly early founding. The first action I can find recorded for them is in 310M36 (Age of Apostasy) during fighting on Vaust Hive World. But as the Apocrypha of Davio was written in M33 and lists them (mistakenly it now seems) as 2nd founding. They must have been created by that point and been around for some time for the scribes to get that wrong. Im thinking possibly a Dark Founding Chapter? Although I don't have set date for that.

Vel'Cona
Thanks for this! Really excellent synopsis of our successor colors for dudes looking to do something aside from the solid red. Seeing the scheme for Blood Drinkers almost made me want to throw some more paint on my new guys. Almost. :D
Vodunius
Im thinking possibly a Dark Founding Chapter? Although I don't have set date for that. GW has given a date for the 13th as being the underway at the dawn of the 36th millenium - but personally I regard that as a typo as its a tad ludicrous to cram 8 Foundings into 300 years (and one of them the largest since the 2nd!). If foundings were evenly spaced (which I think they would as theres not much room for them otherwise) prior to the 21st then the 13th would have been late M33 or early M34. Right now to get scribbling; I'll hopefully post my musings here in the coming days Bix's Blood Drinkers
Alexos
I would like to present my somewhat Ba Successors, they were actually found here: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Red_Legion This also shows their symbol. I would also try and answer Snozz's question, the Red wings are quoted to have pale snow coloured with ruby. I think this means that the armour itself is pale, and a pinkish type colour. They just worded it like that so people wouldn't mistake them with being feminine. Also, I would like to point out here: http://web.archive.org/web/20080129121424/...pter_Comp/1.htm It shows some other chapters that are a BA successor that you may have missed, and if it says NOT IN ARCHIVE, then you just click Refresh. Snozz
Hmmm, that's a good point. I never considered it to be pinkish at all. I was thinking more of an off white, with red trimmed shoulder pads. I did knock up a paint scheme on the painter, I'll stick it here in a second and see what people think. EDIT: Opinions?
Heru
I would like to present my somewhat Ba Successors, they were actually found here: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Red_Legion This also shows their symbol. I'm not going to put the Red Legion on the list, because they are an official Chapter with an undefined geneseed and no obvious ties to the Blood Angels (beyond being called 'the "Red" Legion', and having a Red scheme). Zarnak
I present to you! The Obsidian Angels, 23rd founding. Chapter Symbol being an uncapitalized Omega ω Since it resembles an angel. I don't have much fluff decided about where they are currently stationed or chapter masters, etc. The only main theme that is decided within this army is Time > Patience, hence veterans, officers and especially good characters gets hourglasses sculpted or painted unto their armor. Some clarifications though, the brown/orange is actually a bronzecolour almost a tad bit rusty looking. The grey parts are pure good ol' boltgun metal. My models are more detailed though, I paint the buckle of the "belts" with more boltgun metal not to mention purity seals and other wargear! :) EDIT: Silly mistake. Thanks Yankeeguy0.
