Jumppack Battleleader/lord or Wolfguards

A WGBL with a jump pack would be a sensible option with Skyclaws, but I would stay away from a unit of WG with jump packs. They are way too expensive. In fact the option for jump packs with WG is rather redundant. The cost of a basic WG with jump pack is 43pts, that's more than Vanguard with Intervention! IMO the only reason you would give a WG a jump pack at 25pts is to lead a Sky Claws pack, but since you can't I really don't know why we have them. Maybe just to say we have the option.

Welcome to the Fang.-_-

hi, thanks, yes well 43points IS way to expensive, I was just hoping someone had found a way of making them usefull =)

I were thinking of having a skyclaw pack with a battleleader / lord / wolfpriest jumping after my advancing rhinos acting as a counter attack force or letting them jump before the rhinos acting like a potent shield unit tieup unit

but then it hit me that you could just as well use a tough as nail wolflord with some skyclaws as extrawounds instead

runic armor / badass weapons etc, and 1 of the offensive sagas, it would be an expensive lord, but with the extra wounds the skyclaws offer he could go on a royal rampage though, but Im guessing everyone use wolfmounts instead?

The Wolf Priest is great with BCs, SCs etc. because the re-roll to hit through Oaths of War can make up for the WS3 and Fang of Morkai will keep them in the battle if they have a bad round of combat.

WP with runic armour, melta bombs, jump pack is 150 pts -_-

I considered them for possible combos but deemed them too expensive.

Get a WL with runic armor + wolf claw (rerolling hit or wound should result in more bonuses to warrior saga) + storm shield + jump pack + saga of the warrior

Keep him with the sky claws and hit target #1 to charge up your warrior saga

Next turn you use your superior mobility and can hit a target by yourself due to I5. You can probably finish off a 10man tac squad before they swing back

I used a WL with claw/shield jump pack, Wolf priest with jump pack and 10 skyclaws with power weapon. Using it as a counter attack force.

But I found the skyclaws still die pretty quick, and a wolf lord wasting points waiting around doesnt seem like the most economical of choices. So he gets a thunder wolf now (hoooo!)

The wolf priest stays with the claws to provide a cheap (ish) rapid response unit. But only in bigger games. I am not that hot on claws and have pretty much inched them out my lists. I guess i play a lot of other marines and the WS3 hurts sometimes. But just personal pref.

Bizzare that Wolf Guard cant lead them. But thats the way it is. As stated above, just not a good idea to run skyguard. best leave that to the BAs and get onto a thunder wolf instead.
