Lorenzen
well its been about 6 months since i posted anything on here.. (distinct lack of internet made it difficult) but im back and have returned to an old favourite of mine, the deathwing. im working on the idea of giving the majority of my terminators robes and various bits and bobs to make them all look relatively unique, im hopefully going to be pushing my sculpting and painting as far as i can with this project. so any and all input is welcome. so without further ado here is the first wip, the majority of his robes are done, the back needs to be finished, and then its on to the little details, the camera quality isnt great but its the best i can do atm. http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd199/typhion/robedterminator-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196232-robed-deathwing/ Share on other sites

sar mikael
Hey Lorenzen, this is only terminator with robes that ive seen and it actually works! so long as you dont go putting a hood on the model now, i think its gonna rock and has got me thinking about doing my own! How have you manged to create the layers? is it one lump spread and modelled or have you used "sheets" of green stuff and wrapped them around the mini? Lorenzen
i work in sections, ive tried working in one big lump before.. and after doing loads of work id almost always manage to shove my thumb into it all and ruin it.. so instead i do a bit at a time, giving it time to cure and thus avoid my awesome ability to squash details with a well places thumbprint. ill post up a step by step or something when i start the next models robes. anyway heres where hes at atm.. i still need to finish the robes over his back, but hes getting there.. http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd199/typhion/termieback-1.jpg once the robes are complete ill be adding some dark angel details and then figuring out the arms and head for him.. Lorenzen
I've decided to keep the first model somewhat simple.. so no feathers or excess in bling for now.. instead he gets a banner! http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd199/typhion/S50314932-1.jpg This isnt the one he will be carrying btw ill be painting the deathwing standard once i find myself a spare banner and a cocktail stick and replacing it with that. This is the first time ive painted bone from a black undercoat, im relatively happy with the result.. other than the face nothing is anywhere near complete, but i thought an update was necessary seeing as how far hes come from a torso with robes. i also managed to find my old apothecary model, who will be getting a new head and a new lick of paint soon.. but heres a picture of him for now sporting my old fashioned method of doing deathwing.. ie spray white then throw gryphonne sepia at them till they looked suitably bone coloured. http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd199/typhion/apothecary.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196232-robed-deathwing/#findComment-2340631 Share on other sites
