Death Cult Assassin

Pig Of Sparta

Recommended Posts

I wasn't really sure where to put this and I didn't want to start a new thread for something that may well fall by the wayside, but I've had no luck with this in my general WIP thread. I know she's not game legal or anything but after playing about with some bits I cam up with this:

(incidentally, if DC assassins aren't supported by this board please let me know and I'll get it down asap)

This is actually one of my favourite mini's GW have ever released, but I hacked off her sword a few years back for a conversion that went nowhere, so after paintstripping her late last year and having her sit in my toolbox since then I finally decided to show her some love (if such a thing is possible with a woman like this). The pommel still needs to be joined to the handguard and the gap near the hilt needs filling up too, when I next mix up some G/S I'll get that sorted though.

Like I said this might not go anywhere, but I'd like to know what people think anyway, you might make me want to paint her up

The sword looks well placed with the hilt (hand guard) touching the farthest end of the engine block of the chain sword. It provided a very dynamic pose giving you the sense that though she has a small framed body she has the strenght to overhand bat swing a weapon of that size.

I think the only critic I can provide is placement. The eye is being pulled off the models main body by the length of the sword I would be tempted to move her closer in to the center of the base if possible. That or bend her a bit to lean her in more center so the blade goes more up then out. You have a model which causes the eye to lead off the model. You need something to bring the eye movement back to the center again. Maybe some scenary around her something to provide body to the middle of the model as apposed to leading it off the model at the top. This is of course me being artistically picky so take it with a grain of salt.

thanks Talon Darkshade. Yeah I forgot to mention, that's not her base, just one that was close to hand when I was taking photos last night. I think she'll probably end up on a 25mm base, or possibly on a bike 'pill' base with something suitably cringing in fear at the other end...

I like to think that although she's small she's been augmented to be stronger, and that the sword is built out of 41st millenium super metals that are stronger and slightly lighter than current day ones, so she doesn't just need brute strength to wield it but fan use finsesse as well

Thanks for the replies guys, I dodn't expect such a large response :D

@Eltnot: always great when you can inspire others, I'm glad to have done so with this mini ;). This one is a Cadian IG chainsword combined with the chainblade from a Chaos Terminator combi weapon, but it should be do able with any two chain weapons...

@Commander Sasha: I doubt GW will take much notice of a humble converter like me, but you never know ;). Unfortunately I don't have her twin sister anymore, (infact I'm not actually sure what happened to her, possibly lost in one of my house moves?) so it'll just be this one getting painted up. If I get around to it :)

@number6:Thanks mate. I didn't think of that. I don't play with Inquisition forces, (but I had some DH's stuff a while back which is why I have this mini...) so I completely forgot about 'counts as'.
