the damned artificer
Okay so a bit long update, I've been working on some buildings and the reaver. Enjoy the pictures. None of the buildings are complete yet, they still need some detailing and some shattered glass. the tower: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/towf.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/tow.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/tow1.jpg The shrine: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/bigf.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/bigb.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/big3.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/big2.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/big1.jpg The bastion: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/bas1.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/bas3.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/bas2.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/bas4.jpg The knight in urban terrain: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/knight2.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/knight1.jpg And finally, the mighty reaver: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/reaverside-1.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/reavertop.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/head.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/ignatumcloseup.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/fullside.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/1-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196607-the-mighty-mechanicus/page/2/#findComment-2631675 Share on other sites

Darius Macab
Cool, i like it. it looks good. but i think if you could do some weathering and heat effects on the armor and weapons it would look even better. The 40k Hobbiest
I really don't want to be the only nay-sayer here, but as I understand it the Knights are considerably shorter than the Warhounds. Can you post a picture of the Knight next to your FW Warhound so we can get a size comparison? But that aside, your models really do look spectacular. Blessings to the Omnissiah. the damned artificer
Thanks all for the responds :) The size of the knight is based on the statement from forge worlds Will Hayes in an interview with Bigdaddy, one of the leading guys in the knight model production. And he states that the knights would be around 18-20 cm tall and mine is 20 without the base ;) The warhound is around 25 and the reaver 40-41, so they should fit the bill nicely. After the forgeworld reboot of the titans I think they changed the scale on them a lot to fit better with the miniatures in the 28mm range, as epic is not actually scale accurate (Only inquisitor is scale accurate, of all GW's miniature ranges) And if you look at the old officially GW licensed armourcast warhounds and reavers you'd notice that they are considerably smaller than the contemporary Forge World equals, in fact the armourcast reaver is about the same size as a FW warhound :) But anyhow, I'm glad you still like them and the above should be seen as an explanation to my choice in scale and not as me correcting you ;) Now I'm here, how about a few updated pictures, still not done yet but had the opportunity to play with my brothers camera. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/frontview.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/frontviewfull.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/head1-1.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/rearview.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/head2.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/IMG_2354.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196607-the-mighty-mechanicus/page/2/#findComment-2666615 Share on other sites

the damned artificer
Thanks mate :) I started the reaver in feburary 2010, so about a year, but have also done a lot of other stuff along this project, like painting the knight, building most of my warlord, a load of buildings and some other stuff. the damned artificer
Here's an update of what have been going on at the forges for the last while. The mechanicus force will be escorted by some close friends on their top secret mission, the Iron Hands. So here's my small IH escort (That might grow bigger at some point, who knows :D ) These are all WIP's and the rhino has only got one layer of white on the hatch symbols and some interior paint so far. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Iron%20Warriors/ih1.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Iron%20Warriors/ihr2.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Iron%20Warriors/ihr4.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Iron%20Warriors/ihr3.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Iron%20Warriors/ihr1.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Iron%20Warriors/ihdread.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196607-the-mighty-mechanicus/page/2/#findComment-2692799 Share on other sites

Hyaenidae
Cool to see someone else give the old Chaos Dread a chance at new life...I love what you did with him, absolutely gnarly. I ditched the old Plasma Cannon myself for my conversion, and went with the plastic arms, but you actually made the ol' weapon look pretty smooth. Congrats, brother! Keep up the great work! Keyboard
You, my good sir, put Forge Worlds biggest titan to shame with that there monstrosity!! If you havent, I suggest you read Helsreach... The Oberon would be a great model to see made... I mean, drop pod doors for toes... Tanks for legs... I cant wait to see the finished model. How much time, effort and money would be put into something like that...? No I haven't read that, I'll consider it though :) The reaver wasn't that expensive, and the warlord is around 150 £/ 248 us$ so far, but will probably get more expensive along the way :D I finished the dread and undercoated it. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/310320112588.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/310320112589.jpg Some better pics will be up at a later point as these where taken in a rush. the damned artificer
So I've been doing a lot of work on the warlord, it has received a lot of new "skin" in the form of plasticard for smoother and easy to detail surfaces. The picture of the rectangle is a top-view shot of the engine, showing the compartment where the tech priest will be residing (he is currently on his way in the mail from FW). The engineroom will have a lot of detail but I'll get to that later in constuction. The head is nearing it's final shape and detailing of the interior will soon begin, but for now you'll have to do with the pics of the head tscked to the torso. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/040520112623.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/040520112632.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/040520112625.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/040520112626.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/040520112630.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/040520112629.jpg Here's a comparison shot of the warlord and the reaver, it's starting to look like something now. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/040520112633.jpg And a shot of the reaver. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/2-1.jpg I also got my hands on this, the now OOP forge world opus machina. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/040520112631.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196607-the-mighty-mechanicus/page/2/#findComment-2746796 Share on other sites

the damned artificer
I have almost completed the leg section of this massive beast of a model. I opted for a sponged effect for heavy wear and tear, and decided to make the bottom of the legs look like it just moved through a building and the dust from the crumbling ruins are gathering on the lowest part of the titan. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/1-3.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/2-2.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/3-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196607-the-mighty-mechanicus/page/2/#findComment-2860784 Share on other sites
