the damned artificer
Thanks guys :D I have been in a marine phase lately, and thus the only admech models receiving any love lately have been their good buddies, the Iron Hands ;chrome: So here's a taste of ferrus manus' finest for you. The dread is still missing some details before I go to the weathering stage. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/IHvenedread.jpg different lighting: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/sharp.jpg and from the top: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/DSCN0529.jpg C&c is always welcome :) I also finished this for friend: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Random/DSCN0443.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Random/DSCN0441.jpg I'm pretty pleased with how the plasma cannon turned out, first of an ordinary pic. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Random/DSCN0447.jpg And then one with a lot of flash!! I like this shot as it makes the lens look like it is glowing and really shows of how nice I managed to get it. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Random/DSCN0438.jpg Hope you like it :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196607-the-mighty-mechanicus/page/3/#findComment-2874274 Share on other sites

the damned artificer
I forgot to post an update here, as this is about a week old but I figure that most off you guys haven't seen it on warseer so here goes! So the boys in red robes got some love again, and I have decided they needed to have some real progress for once. So to start off here's an army shot of what currently stands on bases, and is theoretically "playable" (since the army never was designed for actual play. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/army.jpg What stands in reserve is: -The warlord (which hit an insufficient funds problem and was put on hold and will hopefully be brought back into business soon) -16 skitarii -A robot And some do-dats that still haven't gained a real title yet... Onto the progress! I have started painting the tanks and begun the weathering too. I like them to look really well used like they've been on this exploration a loooooooong time now and met some really harsh environment. Please bear in mind that these are all WIP. The land raider: The land raider have a heavy duty conversion beamer installed in a turret on top of the hull. this is to give the mechanicus force a more customized look and show that they rarely settle for ordinary gear. If ever played in normal games it will act as a redeemer, and next time you see it it'll have its flamers on as well. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/admechLR1.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/admechLR2.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/admechLR3.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/admechLR4.jpg Ohh yeah and the LR has a LED light installed ;D The thunderfire cannon: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/thunderfire.jpg The myrmidon assault engine: The myrmidon haven't changed at all, but painting have commenced. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/myrmidon1.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/myrmidon2.jpg The leman russ No. 1: No change here either, just paint. If ever played it will probably be proxyed as a predator to simulate it's superior design features and the capability and skill of the admech driver http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/DSCN0719.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/DSCN0720.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/DSCN0721.jpg The recovery vehicle: I finally got this one completed and have started painting it as well. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/recovery1.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/recovery2.jpg And finally the Iron Hands aide have had reinforcements as well, as a vindicator fell into their laps. It have been decorated with the splendid brass etch from FW and some other resin FW bits. Hope you like it. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/vindicatorIH1.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/vindicatorIH2.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/vindicatorIH3.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mechanicus%20revived/vindicatorIH4.jpg More soon... Hyaenidae
Is it bad that your thread is the only reason I come down to the Mechanicus forum? lol. Man, that Land Raider is freakin incredible! Where's the turret from, I swear I've come across that on E-Bay some time or another... The Myrmidon is very cool too, what rules you using for that again? Whatever, it kicks ass. That's a wonderful shade of Matt Red you got on these beasts, how'd ya do it? Keep on keeping on, man. I will be waiting impatiently for your next update! Thanks mate, and if you feel like it you can always check out my mechanicus thread on warseer http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=198681 It has a few more pages than this one... 38 to be exact ^_^ The turret is from an old predator tank, and they shouldn't be hard to come by ;) I haven't played with these (mainly because I don't play) but there's several fan besed mechanicus codex out there with rules for them, but it can also just be proxied as a dreadnought. The red is vallejo burnt Cad. red airbrushed on and then highlighted with blood red, also with airbrush. Very simple actually ^_^ I'm working on a lot of commissions right now, a fw brass scorpion among them, so there will be a long waiting for updates I'm afraid :/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196607-the-mighty-mechanicus/page/3/#findComment-2914225 Share on other sites

the damned artificer
Time for a small update! I got a little work done on the warlord's legs and gave it a bit more detail, also my gf accidentally knocked the warlord over while vacuum-cleaning so I had to re attach the hips as one of them broke. Luckily it was only minor damage but it made me realize that I need to reinforce the inside of the hips, so they will be filled with resin to make them suitably strong. I have been sanding away on the leg armour, and have also tried out some awesome new rivets I've acquired. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/DSCN1513.jpg the rivets: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/DSCN1514.jpg Some of the new detail, more of this will come. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/DSCN1510.jpg http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/DSCN1509.jpg I also got my rusty mechandrites on this (the one on the left), a forge world opus like the one I already have (on the rigth) but the new one is in perfect condition and the old one I have is full of flaws. The newly acquired opus is from a fellow gamer that obtained it through the skullz program back in the day so it have been cast waaaaaaaaaay before the moulds started failing. This precious gemstone is now locked in my secret vault along with a few other treats. The holy sigil. http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/DSCN1505.jpg And the rest of the treats...they are mine, MINE! Muhahahahahaaaa.... erhm.. Sorry :shifty: http://i535.photobucket.com/albums/ee354/SteffenSJensen/Mighty%20Reaver/DSCN1502.jpg That's all for now guys. Kabal_of_Baal
I'm a huge fan of the red you painted your tanks with. Care to share how you got that great chipped and rusty look? Is it as simple as the stipple-with-a-sponge method?
