The skies are alive with nipples and wings. Salute your crimson armored comrades, for they are in for a rough ride of scorn.

My friend is a big BA player with over 6ks worth of stuff. He is understandably excited, like a feverish son of baal before battle. I on the other hand feel for him, for his beloved legion is about to weather a storm of hate.

So if you know real BA players then buy them an ale. I wont delve into codex bashing, but I believe it to be 'strong'. Its not a matter of us vs them, we have the tools to go toe to toe with one and all. I just feel for them as i glance one eye on the future. One in which even showing a hint of red will bring groans from across the table.

There we sit, in the middle ground with a good, strong, healthy balanced codex. The vanilla dex now with its dangly bits cut off, vulken sitting solemnly playing with his lighter. It seems the brothers of the red have all their strengths and none of their weaknesses. The DA and templar dexes seem dated, even if only by points. The BA dex is posing there with its abundance of toys..waiting for a few years when the writers realize what a massive mistake they have made and cut its baals off. A history of over-compensation will maybe see the red tomb heavily neutered upon release next time. Until then they may win..a lot..with wolves both at their side and against them. Indeed a worthy ally and fierce foe.

So heres a toast to the blood angels... my dandy wolves are waiting!

This is a good example of what happens when a codex is rewritten to emphasize a Chapter's strengths and weaknesses. The Codex will turn out to favor players who know how to play the strengths and will punish the FOTM player, who won't bother to learn it. It will be a learning curve for the BA players and I look forward to going against them. But, you are correct, in that it will create a LOT of bashing.

I think the secret is that players who identify with the Space Wolves will always keep their army in a cupboard, just in case a new set of rules comes out once they've all become outdated because, secretly, they're Space Wolves at heart. You guys love your chapter, and always will, and will often run an outdated Codex list just because you love them so much.

There was many-a FotM player who thought along the lines of 'WOW YOU CAN THROW THUNDERHAMMERS!', but with Wolves you're either a real player to stick with them, or not.

There's a lot of love for BAs, particularly from those of us who remember 2nd edition, as that's what we 'all' had painted up, because they were the posterboys. There will be a lot of people drawn in to playing with C:BA because of that, a lot who will use it as FotM (same as Tyranids, same as IG... etc) and, hopefully there'll be people newly drawn into the world of BA love.

It looks and feels like Codex Creep, both with SW and then BA, but I love BA enough not to care just yet ;)

It looks and feels like Codex Creep

I like Codex Creep. The books released since 5th ed have all been really versatile with lots of different choices available to each army so they aren't dreadfully boring like the Chaos book. The Blood Angels are no exception. The only problem is that it will take time to get round to the older ones. So let's all look at the Dark Angels and laugh.

After reading the BA book today , yeah the OP has solid points on this.

And yeah good luck to them for not getting any gloomy faces when they take thier army out vs others

No more black rage rule except DC and turbo boost engine rules for the whole army is the biggest disappointment so far , so what ? your super fast and your reliable too ? great XD
