Kitting out your Sanguinary Priests

Recommended Posts

My experience is about half my games I really want the priest to have the power weapon, the other half I wish I spent the points elsewhere.

For now, I keep a power weapon on one priest and just a chainsword on the other.

When we first got our codex I was running Corbulo (joined a squad in rhino) and a SP on a bike.

The bike dude was AWESOME, he was moving 24" almost every turn (getting 3+ invul) and conferring FC and FnP... he also had meltabombs and was killing tanks late in the game, yet strangely everybody ignored him.

Eventually though my group caught on and made sure they assaulted him asap. I plan to give it another chance, but since I've been running:

SP with hand flamer (joined squad in rhino)

Corbulo (joined squad in rhino)

SP with Jumppack and Powerweapon (joined flying assault squad)

I go one power weapon and one chainsword as well. One SP usually hangs out with the tac squad firebase, though and the other is with the jump packers (he has the PW)

Jump Pack, Power Weapon, Melta Bombs = 95. So if you run power fists you have a PW that will hit at I4 or I5 on the charge and he is WS5 so he should be hitting on 3's. Serg with Melta Bombs and Sang Priest with Melta Bombs more chances to stop armor in cc.
