Building some back story

To keep things brief and to the point:

1. I'm working on some fluff associated with FW's IA3 - The Taros Campaign

2. If you are familiar with the book, then you'll know it was not the Imperium's finest hour

3. What I am exploring is the consequences of the campaign

So that being said, formations involved at Taros could have a certain stigma attached to them because of their failures. I've generally arrived at the phrase, "mortis stigmata", which I think could be generally translated to "death mark".

So the purpose of the Mortis Stigmata, is denote penance or shame. It would be a bad worn by formations who have failed and are engaged in operations to regain their honor.

So what I am wondering is what should this painted device look like?

So far I've come up with only a few ideas, none of which really blows up my kilt:

a. Black Heart with a blood red "T" in the middle

b. Same as above, but with a dagger through the heart

The key is that it has to be simple and clean enough that it can be painted on multiple surfaces. Things like vehicles, shoulder pads, knee pads, chest armor, weapons, etc.

Anyway, there are some extremely creative minds on this board and I thought I'd ask for help.

Thanx in advance!

Cheers,

Dammit! You've ruined the ending! :P

I've never quite finished it, because I got distract by ImpArm 4.

I don't recall one, but is there no campaign badge listed in the book?
