Happened this past weekend at the FLGS tournament, managed to score 3 Chaos opponents for all three games

 

 

Game 1: Getting a Foothold

 

This mission was a land grab. Turn 1 had Abaddon and his cronies in my face. Turn 2 the big man and his retinue smashed into my fenrisian wolves unit, thankfully my WL had saga of the wulfkin which allowed the pack to drag down two terminators. Turn three my iron priest and his thunderwolf charged the warmaster and proceeded to put hammer to face. After snuffing Abaddon in my opponents turn the IP then proceeds to destroy the landraider abaddon was riding in.

 

Game 2: Secure the information

 

This game was a struggle between two demon princes and my iron priest and lord on wolves. It finally ended with my lord sending the last prince to his maker.

 

Game 3: Get the information off planet

 

This was the crowning achievement in my Lords saga. At the game onset it was grim, having taken a charge of Khorne berserkers who........wait for it........do nothing. My lord responds in kind by sending 6 of them into the dirt, two more perish from no retreat. After the mess was cleaned up he then proceeded to cut a swath through the enemy forces which consisted of another berserker squad, two slaneesh marine squads, and a chaos lord with demon weapon.

 

 

Through all three games he took a total of 2 wounds and survived every battle.

When the Wolves codex was released, the local gw ran an arena of death. There were ten participants, two Chaos Lords, a Hive Tyrant, an Eldar Autarch, a Dark Angels Chapter Master, a SM Chapter Master, two Ork Warbosses another SW Wolf Lord and Sven Krakenbane (my own WL).

 

Over the course of this brutal display of martial prowess, Sven took on and defeated the HT, both CLs and the Autarch. The other WL was beaten by the DACM. The final combat was between the cowardly DA and Sven. Sven charged in battering the dark angel in a manner that fully restores chaptr honour.

 

I've since played the DA player in a full sized game (2K) and sven faced off against the CM in question, again beating him :lol: got a game arranged for a weeks time. 3 times in a row anyone?

Since I've only played two games with Space Wolves - have one story for each game.

 

Game 1 v. Black Templars. 1k

 

My Lone Wolf made a charge into the Command Squad containing a Capt weilding a pair of Lightning Claws, and Emperor's Champion and three elite guard - the EC brought the pain with preferred enemy prayer.

 

Ulfgar the Red's Saga ended before he even was able to strike a blow - felled by the Emperor's Champion.

 

Hildulf Iceclaw (my Wolfguard Battle leader - who is actually a Wolf Lord...but meh) - seeing this - swore to avenge his fallen Brother. Charged in - took two wounds from the EC and held firm, woudning the EC in return.

 

THe battle raged on and Iceclaw's Raiders where showing the Black Templars who's faith in the Emperor was greater - The Champion swung at Hildulf, and missed, the Captain swung and hit - but The Belt of Russ was more than enough to help Hildulf carry on. Hildulf in a wild frenzy - hefted his might Frost Axe on high and broght it down to earth cleaving the Champion in twin and adviseing the Captain - he was indeed next.

 

THe battle raged on and the only thing left of the Templars was the captain and his remaining Retinue. Which were promptly slain by Hildulf. Standing triumphant, Hildulf mortally wounded fought on and single handedly took down the Champion, Captain and his elite guard.

 

Sadly however, I wasn't able to make my Saga - so the trip back to the fang Hildulf was razzed about how poor of a job he did.

 

Game Two - v Dark Eldar again 1k.

 

Ulgar the Red - charged a unit of whatever the Dark eldar troops are called - killed 4 of them, after running across the battlefield getting shot at by everything the Dark Eldar player had. The Dark Eldar fled from the sight of Ulfgar, covered in their companions gore Ulfgar seeing a skimmer - went after it, on the way there he was gunned down by a hail of dark lance fire - his Saga again had ended. The Dark eldar unit that he killed four, the turn before were still so rattled that they decided they wanted no more of the Space Wolves and ran back to their ship in all haste. He totally a unit, two turns after he was killed.
