Imperial Fists Terminators

So my most recent work on my Imperial Fists, 6 repaints actually, my Terminators were among my first attempts at yellow and weren't quite the same shade or quality of the rest of the army so I decided to strip and repaint them, Lysander and my Dreadnaught that's still WIP. I finished em just yesterday and here are the pics:

All told I'm far happier with the freehand work on them now than I was with their previous paint jobs. What do you guys think?

For a moment I thought it said "Porn" on Lysnaders shield... Nice work overall and well done on the freehand. Interesting choice of green for the base rim, are you planning on giving them all green or different colours to mark them as a squad?

@ Fire Lord Captain: I thought that's what it said to. Guess what they say about us men and our frequently wandering imaginations is spot on! lol

I like the job you've done on these guys. Nice and neat. Cool green cables and stuff on Lysander. They contrast really well with the yellow. :)

I see Freud was right. ;)

I use green on the entire army, brown or grey might have been better but the green is a classic base color and I've come to like it and tend to paint the bases on all my models the same green. Squads are of course differentiated by squad numbers, in this case the III or 3rd Terminator Squad, 1st Company.

Thanks. :D

I think they could maybe use a wash of some kind, the yellow looks a little bit flat.

I agree. Also, a coat of Badab Black wash on the head of Lysander's Thunder Hammer, gold shield decoration, and eagle thingy on his head might give it a bit of depth as well.

Are you planning on drilling out the barrels on the storm bolters?

I like them, I know from experience how hard yellow is to paint. My Space Hulk Librarian is getting a little impatient with me, I think.

The pictures and flash make them look flatter than they really are, a wash would help but haven't found a wash or technique I like that works well with yellow. Even if I did, with over 50 models painted in the army I probably won't be making any changes to the scheme now.

Probably, but I'm not likely to change the scheme now with so many of the models in the army already painted. Something for the next project.

Nope, I don't drill barrels usually.

Yellow is hard, as I said I had these guys painted before but the color was quite a bit flatter and brighter than the rest of my army and so they got stripped and re-painted to bring them in line with the rest of my Imperial Fists. I've since learned more about washes, blending and gem effects but those are techniques I won't be implementing on this army. I'm planning either a small Blood Angels force retrofitted from some of my Raven Guard or a White Scars army as projects for the summer and will likely use better techniques with those projects. As an example see my Blood Angel test model.
