lewiss111
hi, i am wanting to convert a changeling for a horror squad, but i'm not sure how. do any of you know bits which might help or models or tutorials? i'm open for green stuff. please feel free to give any ideas no matter how strange or 'horror' like they are. the base model I am expecting to need is a horror, which I do have. The_Crippster
add some robes or something to a horror. Since there is no model you are only limited by your immagination and skill. Primarch16
The guy who rides the fantasy vampire counts corpse cart makes a nice changeling. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196963-converting-a-changeling/#findComment-2347919 Share on other sites
lewiss111
for the corpse cart thing, do you know where i could get one other than the £15 box? OwlandMoonGuy
I must concur: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v699/OwlandMoonGuy/Daemons/02-Changeling-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v699/OwlandMoonGuy/Daemons/02-Changeling-2.jpg As per where to get one – I took the brute force approach. I do believe that I’ve seen the bits sold separately on eBay. -OMG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196963-converting-a-changeling/#findComment-2348069 Share on other sites
lewiss111
wow owl and moon guy! great job, i take it is the corpse cart wraith, but what are the other bits? OwlandMoonGuy
The arms are just from the metal Horror’s box. Which I thought only fitting due to the fact that the Changeling is after all, a horror. Just get the plastic corpse cart bits & a box of Horrors and you’re good to go. -OMG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196963-converting-a-changeling/#findComment-2348409 Share on other sites
The_Crippster
my favorite part of that model is that it looks alot like the pic out of the codex. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196963-converting-a-changeling/#findComment-2349091 Share on other sites
Primarch16
If you cant find the bits then the corpse cart itself is quite useful as it can be used as a chariot of khorne quite well. lewiss111
i am contemplating buying the whole kit, but it is a shame my army only uses chariots of tzeentch and slaanesh. Ntin
It being a shape shifter couldn’t you use potentially any model you want to represent it? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196963-converting-a-changeling/#findComment-2349879 Share on other sites
lewiss111
oh yeah NTIN, but how could i hint on a model such as a marine or ork, that it is a changeling, maybe a mark or a tail, but i've got no idea about how to do it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196963-converting-a-changeling/#findComment-2349889 Share on other sites
Ntin
You can model a Tzeentch icon on the base or some other little hint. No good being a sneaky shape shifter if you have a some give away on every form you take. lewiss111
see what you mean, but people who don't understand will just say i'm too cheap to convert, and in most tournaments, it would not be allowed since it is not an 'accurate' representation of the model. Ntin
Not sure how you can not have an accurate representation of a model that can change shapes and there is no official model for it. It is kind of the greatest WYSIWYG ever. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/196963-converting-a-changeling/#findComment-2350465 Share on other sites

The_Crippster
post farm. The 4 chaos sorcerers are some of my favorite models from GW, I think they'd work. I was considering using some of them as heralds. Is it wrong that I lul that GW included a KKK-ish sorcerer in there? Brother Turok
I just bought the corspe cart rider body and arms for under $10 on ebay. I agree that these bits make a great changeling. However, I have a question: is the changeling supposed to have a staff? :P In the 40k codex he is standing with a staff, I'm not sure about the fantasy codex. I know he can be whatever you want him to be, but I want him to be 'codex official' looking. Thanks. retsef
[Necromancer] Thread, arise! Question for you changeling people... Isnt the point that the changeling is supposed to convince the enemy to not shoot at them? I was thinking of having a selection of models to count-as mine: 1 Marine, 1 Ork, 1 Guardsman, 1 Firewarrior, etc. And just substitute it out per-army I face. Make it seem somewhat obvious that the changeling 'changes' per opponent. Thoughts? The_Crippster
I somehow doubt they'd make a changeling model considering all the other things we'd prefer them to do first. If they do make horrors plastic converting one will be a dream anyways. Ail'Slath'Sleresh
I do agree with converting a horror and I've seen it done at my local GW. a person greenstuffef scrolls over a pink horror in the same manner as the picture the codex has. It looks very good and doesn't seem hard to do but I have yet to try it.
