stared with chaos black prime(GamesWorkshop)

painted over with shining gold,(GW.. the gold paint is the old shining gold from about 10 years ago.its no longer made in this colour):)

washed with Choasblack(GW) and Darkmud (vallejo panzer aces range)

then hight lighted with gold (vallejo model colour)

and then on top of that silver (vallejo model colour).

then finished with a chaosblack/darkmud wash again,

 

Grimblade, thanks very much. Didn't want to make him to fussy,

but in a way I'm disapointed with the sang guard. It leaves me

with very little to convert as they are so good already. Next box I'll be reposeing the legs a little.

Ok, I've been distracted by modeling and have left painting behind :P, managed to get 2 models in Dante and the Dread finished so pretty good for me.

 

Anyways, not happy with Astorath's legs, being far to small just like the Sangunior. I decided to give sculpting the armour a go, at least for the legs, I plan to use the top half the model as it is...well possibly put a helmet on him. Started out by carving into the leg, to try and give a more curvious look but dont think it worked to well. At least it doesnt look to bulky.

Not finished yet, still to add the little chain on the left leg, the detail on the foot and get the knees replaced with some skulls. I am a fan of the style of armour, but is a little to small for my liking.

My biggest gripe with the Astoraths model is that he's supposed to be a high ranked chaplain , but he doesn’t seem to have any of the chaplains standard equipment so I would give him a skull helmet instead, but that’s a purely personal thing. Overall I'm really impressed with your works.

Finished Astorath, modeling wise anyways. Also included all his wargear(boltpistol and grenades). Probably wont go with the blood drop on his helmet as won't really see it anyways from the angle hes at.

Cheers, will go with the Chaplain black as standard, bone colour for the detailed parts me thinks. That is if I get around to actulay ever painting them, as have failed to keep to my build then paint it promise I made to myself.

So started my libby Dread, Some may remember my flying Terminators and left the thread open to how i was going to get a Dread flying. Now with C:BA my wish has been answered. So temptation finaly giving in I started it last night.

 

Was going to have the hero pose, like the other one I did, but wanted it a little more mobile. So at its basic level. Jet intakes on the front are technicaly nothing but thought a jet intake would be good, just to better help move with WoS power.

Upgraded fist. Just the standard blood fist but thought its gotta be a little better than normal stubby fingers, being a Libby.

Had a game yesterday with a Libby Dread, but he managed to do nothing at all. Hopefuly when this guy takes the board he'll do better.

Finished building my Libby Dread. I'm going leave the middle of the blood fist just in case the Libby can take a grapple if it gets 100% confirmed if yay or nay. If he can't I'll simply fill it in.

 

Anyways I bring you Brother Librairan "name". thought as its the first of its kind in the 40k world (that I know of) and actualy have rules for it, that I'd go for heavy decoration. Tried my hand at some fancy swirls in the force weapon arm.

Painted the Libby. Now was painting away and thru to intention what so ever I had ended up with something that looked fimilair. So painted the body blue, painted the shoulders red, blah blah, all the time thinkin this paint scheme look some what familiar. So I got to painting the force weapon it dawned on me what scheme it was(or very close to)... plus the arch window detail on the front gives some impression of a large vehicle.

 

Lets see if anyone can guss who here minds me of. I named him Brother Libby Optis, leader of the autonoughts.

REALLY looking for feed back, I think it works and should work on the other chest plates from the sang guard set. Would look pretty cool having a command squad kitted out with them.

oh god why didn't I think of that. good use of the chest piece, tried to GS something like that a few years back when I entered the AoD under another name(isn't this guy a beauty? ;)). Goddamn i couldn't sculpt to save my life back then. not that I can now, either...

 

So anyways, suffice to say, the SG chestpiece does a better job at getting a fancy termi armour. I love it.

I like the Terminator a lot. Although I think it would work better if you didn't use the standard Termie head. Would the Deathmasks from the Sang. guard fit on them?

 

In my opinion, the bulky termie helmet doesn't really fit in with the ornate chest plate.

I echo the above coments about the termie needing a fancier helmet though, or a bare head?
