E's Blood Angels

@noodlenerd, cheers, I wish I hadnt thought of it to be honest as now I want to do a CC or command squad using these parts. My wallet/bank acct is empty enough and I'm fast running out of termies to recycle from my BT army. Mind you just relised I got 5 AOBR termies sitting here.

@Terminatorinhell, the blood claw on the libby? if so the its the standard right arm of the ironclad, standard dread fist with half the fingers cut off then ork parts added for the actual claws. the ork bits I cut off the rectangle base so just left with the finger so to speak.

@cathar the great, I'm half and half with that idea must say was a quick blu-tack build last night as was in the middle of making CC termies. I would think that to fit the death mask heads in we'll need to trim off the halo leaving just the "head" like in my Dread libby. Certainly an option worth looking at. Maybe even the grey kinght termie mod would fit.

@Midnight Runner, thanks ohhhh, bare haeds I'm trying to stay away from but I'll give it a shot once finshed my current works.

To come 7 CC termies and old..well older than the new one LR crusader.

Yeah I know what you mean, why wear the Emperor's best armour and leave your helmet at home? lol

Another good option would be THIS Helmet out of the Khorne berzerker box with the horns shaved off. Anyways, keep up the good work, its a good source for inspiration :)

In the middle of painting a LRC and CC termies. soooo much red, I can see red when I close my eyes. So little break as my Libby came in the post and been itching to make him.

No a huge post just the sheild, modified from Lysanders(sp) sheild I had lying around. Was a bit fusy with the egale at the top as well as the BA wings, so GSt over that and added some blood angels goodness. The Libby himself wont be converted that much as already an awesome model.

C&C welcome.

Hmmmm, looking at the big pic and back at the actual sheild, I see the big blood drip is slightly off, how annoying. Shouldn't be to hard to cut of and reposition it.

Finished the Libby, not a great deal of work. Pose is similar to another here on the forum but like said already an awesome model, just a few added BA goodness, a force weapon conversion and the sheild modification.

Will try and post the painting progress on the LR crusader and the 7 termies.

Thanks, never really cared for the eagle on the end of power weapons be it on libbys, chaplins, etc etc. Has to be hammer, spiky ball maul or a blade of some sort for me.

As promised a little paint update.

This is similar to the finished standard I'll be doing. Ths Termie is unfinished but you get the idea. I've decided to make my space hulk terminators my command squad whan they are needed and the AOBR ones more CC goodness, but will use the Sg chest plates to make them a little more special.

Anyways, one of the ones I'm working on. Currently some areas to tidy up. But heres a pic of the basic stone work throughtout the squad.

C&C please and welcomed, as I dont paint stone all that often.

Thanks, this is how I do it. Might be one of the longest ways, works for me and feel more in control of whats happening. As tried light grey base then washing progressivly darker layers of grey then a highlight. I found for me that the water tends to leave stain marks, and mot give the impression of stone.

Well started with chaos black under coat

A mix of codex grey and chaos black. Mixed so you get a nice dark grey.

Same again, but a lighter grey. Dry brushed on.

Then stright up codex grey. dry brushed on.

Then codex grey mixed with bleached bone ad white, to pick it up a shade lighter. Dry brushed on.( I like dry brushing BTW :Troops: )

Then codex grey with white for highest highlighting, wet brush in strokes across the model. Leaving an almost commoflage effect.

Then a mix of dex grey and white. Lighter than shades used to an almost white but just enough to take the power of pure white off. Then lots of lines in the form of cracks.

Then a mix of chaos black and grey, again just so its not pure black then go over cracks, being sure not to go completely over the white.

..phew...then a very very thin wash of chaos black, snakebite leather and darkmud from vallejo panzer aces range on top of all that to add age effect. If you look very close mostly towards the inner parts you can see a slight hint of brown.

And presto, we have my stone work recipe. I managed to do the details(skulls, scrolls, terminator badge, etc etc) on 7 terminators inside 1 hour using the above. Wasnt frustrating at all, promise. I thought it was going to be but honestly wasnt, I enjoyed the whole process. But I'm pretty sure theres a far easier way of doing it.

Thanks both.

Finished painting my terminators. If i ever see another terminator it'll be to soon, almost burned out doing them. The photos don't do them justice as much beter in real life and my camera isnt so good, honest. Pics a little dark to one side but the red paint on the normal camera flash looks all plastic and as if I have just painted the whole thing red, so had to take them in the day light but fairly murky rainy outside at moment so best I could get.

Sarge.

Large blood drip, top orniment(skull in crest) and painted the helmet different to show sargent status.

And thier ride. This lot will be joint by a Termie Libby as posted in thread, or a Chappy. Depending on how I feel. These guys alone with the LRC took out 1186pts of SM army the other night and I only lost 3 Termies and 1 Sm from my tact squad and my landspeeder.

Painting in progress. Taking a break from the LRC, and working on Corbulo.

You're right, the pictures aren't the best, but they look great ^^

From what I can see you changed some of the static "wide-stance" poses of the Marines into a more dynamic running pose. How did you do this conversion? Did you just cut the legs at the hip and repositioned or was there some sculpting involved?

(Or am I imagining things and those are standard poses?)

Yah not the best, may retake them sun is out and shining bright today. In work at moment :( see how I feel when home.

And no your not imagining the leg pose. Simple really, cut the back of the knee joint out then cut the bottom part of the leg off or bend it if you can. Then get some greenstuff and fill in the gaps and create the joint detail back where needed. Then position the termie on the base at a suitable angle as to be running and position the body to a suitable chareing pose.

heres some links, this is my works done a while ago, in fact few of them are now/going to be blood angels.

Will say some were cut at the hip as well, just to get that extra angle.

Cheers

The terminators look great. I especially like the pose and helmet on the sarge. The pic caught my eye immediately and I stared at it in fascination for a good while admiring the paint job. You have really done an excellent job here.

Thanks very much mikhail, I found the green eyes really pop out at you.

Taking a break from painting so a Little update on Corbs. I'm going for an all helmeted force as much as I can with exceptions to guys like mephy and heavy duty metal models. I dont care how much FNP you get, a shot to the head is still going to hurt like hell.

Was thinking how to represent his Heavens teeth chainsword attack profile. So extended the length and will add some power cables joint to the chainsword like the cables from a termie LC or TH that come from just under the armpit. Will also add a wing of some sort to act as a hand guard.

Used the SM commanders helmet, cut the light off a standard apoth helmet and popped it on here. Thought as hes special he needs a slightly different helmet

C&C would be great.

cheers

Corbs is looking really good so far!

Im just not sure on the helm. I generally DO prefer helmeted heads, but with characters the faces usually have much more well...Character -_- Personally I'd put Corbs head on the new body. But hey thats just me. Really nice conversion though.

Made Sepharan, nothing to special. Thought a GK's force Halbard would fit nicely with the short fluff in the Dex.

http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk270/Eberious_2008/DSC05884.jpg

(other pics cut from quote)

C&C welcome.

Beautiful glaive .... what was the "short fluff" -- is there mention of a glaive or anything specific about Sepharan other than "Sepharan, who entered the gates of hell itself to battle for his Chapter's soul" on pg 50?

The reason I ask is because I'm running a 2500pt Sanguinary Guard/Dreadnought Dante list ... and I have 30 guard ... which means that yes, I have every Sanguinary guard in the army per the org chart in the codex ... which means that, as long as we are in current day, Sepharan is one of them ;)

Love the conversions overall - I am a big fan of all-helmet armies too!

@Slowhand, thanks, feel free to steal away. Shame i dont have more feedback on that one ;)

@IronKobra, I do agree its lacking Character with being helmeted. But trying for a all helmet force. I'll probably find myself doing a few bare headed ones. But thanks for the feedback.

@schreier, thanks, at work at the moment so can't tell you the page. But its in amongst the listed history of battles worth mentioning.

It says that Sepharan, went to dante and asked to take the whole SG to help the greyknights in storming a chaos deamon held fortress and taking them all out in a night of glorious battle. There is no mention of a special weapon that he had, its just personal fluff of my own that the GK's gifted Sepharan with a force weapon on a job well done. Still counts as a glaive, same weapons as the SG.

(Edit as home and checked C:BA . Fluff regarding the GK's and SG on page 16, headed "the vengeance of the blood angels". first mission on the page.
