bryce
So here is a question, I have been working on a list that has, in short these things: one WG squad of 3, as pack leaders for GH squads, 2 vindicators, a pack of Long Fangs, and a Land Raider. I realize that there are 4 Heavy selections there, but I am wondering, can I legally take the Land Raider as a dedicated transport for the WG squad (which will be split up) so as to avoid taking up the Heavy slot? I know I couldn't deploy the squad (Lord, WGPL, 10x GH) in the tank, but I could just start them next to each other and have them jump in on the first turn right? Karack Blackstone
Dedicated transports are not on the FOC, and yes, to my knowledge you can, only thing is as you state, to my knowledge yes, unless the unit it is dedicated to starts out in it, you have to start out in the open and pile in first time your turn comes up. This may result in shooting at the unit beforehand. Ullr Direfang
Yes you can and as you said the squad you plan to put in it must start out side of it on first turn. and i guess just as a precaution, I take it that you are taking a Land Raider Redeemer( not a Land Raider) as you are putting 12 models in it. jjfelber
Oh that settles it. I'm taking 6 Land Raiders. Can you buy multiple dedicated Transports for one unit? Could I buy a land raider has a DT and a DP? Move the raider foward. Drop the DP. Then get in the Land raider and move along? It would be bad enough seeing 6 LRs moving foward, but then to have DPs falling behind your lines. Silly? Yes. Point sink? Maybe. completely awesome? Absolutly! Karack Blackstone
3 Squads of WG and 3 LR's in HS slots? That's alot of BC's/GH's and Termies. I like. postal105
well realistically jjfelber you could only have 4 land raiders on the board 3 taking up heavy spots and 1 as a dedicated transport as you are only allowed to have 1 pack of wolf guard take 1 land raider not any more then that. sorry to burst your bubble jjfelber. Sarapham
Oh that settles it. I'm taking 6 Land Raiders. You can only take 4 since only ONE pack of WG may take a LR as a transport. stinkenheim
as has been said you can only take one land raider for one wolf guard squad, you can also only buy one squad a single transport so a wolf guard squad can't take both a drop pod and a land raider as transports. Verseau
Page 86, under dedicated transport. "One Wolf Guard Pack in the army may select a Land Raider of any type as a dedicated transport." so only one "super elite" wolf guard pack who get it, the other "ordinary" wolf guard pack may cry the unfairness :( and yeah, before, i also thought the exactly army list with the one you think (and with heavy heart i have to scrap it ^_^ ) Logan Grimnar ... 275 3 WG in each Pack + Land Raider ... 304 x4 = 1216 Total: 1491 and we could tweak a bit for the type of Land Raider.
