explaining Space Wolves to the missus

'ello all,

I'm building a true-scale Space Wolves force over on Warseer (early stages yet).

Now, trying to explain the whole concept of Space Wolves to my long-suffering missus - who's well advanced in Spacemarineology 101 now due to constant exposure - I looked through my hobby files and found this image. Says it all ;)

I particularly love how the Long Fang bears a fair resemblance to James Hetfield of Metallica!

I've lost the artist's name - if anyone knows, please post.

Someone should convert a spacewolf with a Hetfield looking head (black album era) and have 'Hetfield' on the shoulder pad too. Weapon: A power axe shaped like an explorer guitar. A beer bottle in the other hand.

A retinue of two film crew could project a force field around him. A slain Dave Mustaine on the model base.

And a Lars Ulrich. I mean, come on, his name is frickin' Lars Ulrich. He would be the angry short wolf with two thunder hammers. This would be the best WG squad ever. Sorry for the thread jack, it was already light hearted, though. So maybe you could explain to the wife that SW's are a bunch of metal head Vikings in space?

Dave Mustaine isn't that bad, some of the Megadeth stuff is good. Some I won't ever listen to again, however.

I wonder what the WG would be like based off this comic, 10 metal heads to choose, who would get the nod? Or new thread this idea?

cool. Let's go all the way with 'tallica.

So that leaves Kirk Hammett as a chapter reserve and Rober Tortia-chip as chief helmet polisher

Megadeth kick 'tallicas ass for me man. But I better not start that argument on here. lol.

I'm primarily ManOWar, Megadeth and then Metallica in that order. As to the comic, I'd say spot on, but that's a bad joke by itself let alone including the stick for an objective marker.

What's the call, should I make a thread on who would be Mr. Hetfield's WG pack, assuming he's either the lead WG or WGBL? Or would that violate the forum rules?

Okay I have never had an objective marker make me laugh so much.

Max you are truly a genius and I am inspired for a theme of such markers if you don't object to the sincerest form of flattery?

Dont mind the blue, Shadowgray is a "deamonet" to photograph

Theres another one, were wolf scouts state that theyve spotted the enemy forces.... including the enemy commander. Its Orks of course.

The Orks then proceed to unveil something... the scouts report in... they have a sacred chapter relic!

We would know it as a fire hydrant, perhaps long ago once used by Russ himself.

Like Max, I have a stick... and a fire hydrant, and an ale barrel.
