It's not up to BulldogUK's level but it's not bad:

That's all the natural room lighting, no flash. The metallic paint is Gunze Sangyo (Mr. Hobby) Super Titanium.

Could have used some putty in the seams, but that ship has sailed at this point ^_^

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the kind words.

Nicely done, Only slight criticism is the red. It looks very orange and flat, that might be the lighting though. So ignore me.

Probably my lame lighting, it's GW blood red over a gryphonne sepia wash to muck it up a bit.

How do you get the metallic paint so smooth and even! Do you airbrush? Many layers of very thin paint (I have to do thiss but it's so annoyingly long).

Yep, airbrushed. The secret is to airbrush a thinned specialist supermetallic lacquer. These paints are basically highly toxic metal dust suspended in a lacquer base. Very bad for you but they look awesome. This one is Mr. Hobby Super Titanium.

The canonical example of this is Alclad II Chrome. Check THIS out:

It really does go on that smooth, too. Here's a Tau stealth suit I did (apologies for the bad pic):

The airbrush is the critical part.

Lovely work on the LR, its good to see painting and appreciating your hobby. Just wish i ad a digital camera, id put up some of my own.

I have three:

Salamanders LR redeemer with Chapterhouse conversions.

WH Inquisitor Lord with Promethius (black and Metallic purple blended)

DH Inquisitor Lord Rex with LR

Mr. Hobby is sold in the US as well I think, at least the glue is.

I love the shiny metal, have you tried mixing anything with it in the airbrush? I ask as I'm doing a blue washed silver look for my army (Viva Metallica!) and would like to achieve the same effect with an airbrush without actually brushing on the wash.

Is this color tintable? I guess thats what I'm asking.
