Alkana
Alkana Gota, Commander of the Terror Dragons Alkana 8 5 4 4 3 6 5 10 2+ Special Rules: Eternal Warrior, Furious Charge, FearlessDuelist: Alkana places great pride in his martial prowess, and is determined to prove his skills against the greatest foes he faces. Alkana re-rolls all failed To Hit and To Wound rolls against one enemy HQ unit.Shadow-step: Due to past daemonic possession, Alkana has gained many otherworldly abilities, including teleportation and enhanced speed. He counts as being equipped with a Jump Pack, adds +1 to his Initiative(already included in profile), and has a 3+ invulnerable save. In addition, if he arrives using the Deep Strike rules, he scatters 1d6, rather than 2d6.War Machine: Friendly units within 6" of Alkana gain +1 attack. Alkana does not benefit from this rule."I need you to do a favor for me...": Alkana is known to randomly assign his sergeants important missions on the eve of battle. They accept these missions gladly, and are prepared to go to any lengths to see their master's will done. After deployment, one sergeant in the army(chosen randomly) gains +1 Weapon Skill, +1 Wound, +1 Initiative, and +1 Attack for the remainder of the battle.Wargear: Artificer Armor, Frag and Krak grenades Alpharion: A sword containing a powerful daemon of a long forgotten god of Chaos. It counts as a master-crafted power weapon that increases Alkana's Strength by +1.I'm thinking 275 pts. C&C is welcomed. Ntin
He is interesting character with the martial prowess angle but I think he is perhaps too much in the way of extra rules in comparison to someone like Abbadon who is the classic “king” character of Chaos Marines. What I find somewhat strange is his paradigm spills over in several character archtypes, he is a combatant, a demagogue, and a general. I would probably push the duelist aspect more. In the previous Chaos Marine codex Lucious had a similar rule as “duelist” but also lowered his WS against non characters as he found that combat to be boring. Alkana
I tried to push his close combat skills more than anything, hence why he's missing a ranged weapon. The WS8, Duelist rule, high number of attacks, and higher Initiative are all meant to show how focussed he is on hand to hand combat. I didn't ever think of him as a demagogue. The War Machine rule was added because I'd assume his soldiers would fight harder in his presence, since(fluff-wise) they think of him as almost god-like. The "favor" rule was there because he doesn't think of himself as a great leader, and so he counts on his subordinates to lead the others while he goes ahead to murder things. Abaddon could probably eat him alive in CC though. Locmac
Well it's the Sangunior. The only difference is the strength and that's just by one point, the cost is even the same I think. Alkana
Actually, it is the Sanguinor. Alpharion gives Alkana +1 Strength. I had the codex beside me as I was writing this. I was curious as to whether or not people would think he was OP, so I renamed everything and posted it. The really funny/sad thing is that Sanguinor's stats fit my ideas for Alkana almost perfectly. Glad to see I gave someone a laugh. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197481-a-character-ive-wanted-to-try-out/#findComment-2353904 Share on other sites
Locmac
Oh good, when you asked why I thought it was a joke I thought I offended you or something....But the best part is I gotta say that your fluff makes so much more sense than "he's just a guy....I may be trying to give you the angel guy but don't tell anyone" that he gets in the codex. Also doesn't the Sanguinor have 5 str and a frost blade? I mean glave encarnie or whatever it is Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197481-a-character-ive-wanted-to-try-out/#findComment-2353917 Share on other sites
Alkana
Well, I'm glad the fluff makes some sense. Sang has S5 and a master-crafted power weapon(Glaive Encarmine). I don't play Wolves, so I have no idea what a Frost Blade is. Oiad
The release of Sanguinor and Mephiston will give many players the right to 'play as' the a charcater or their cc champion-hero dreams. If only the Imperium were as full of them in the fluff as on the table, it would make short work of all their enemies. Oh well as long as the second-coming-of-christ posing is ditched and that 275pt prices tag is held high and clear for everyone to see, there shouldn't be a problem with it.
