Durfast Spiritwolf
I keep it in a little box next to all the rumors about Grey Knights being released this year. That's no rumour, it's been printed and a copy has been in grubby paws :tu: In whose grubby paws Durfast? In my best muckers - who plays both SoBs and GKs so has a vested interest so to speak :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197483-new-ragnar-model/page/2/#findComment-2354459 Share on other sites

Whilst the current Ragnar model could be converter to mk 3 armour,( I suspect it would look better with a helmit, don't have the cash for the experiment though) I agree it should be redone, it is probably, along with Wraith guard, one of the few models that was done in the late RT era and is still in production, and to be fair, has not aged particually well, Ulric on the other hand should stay, their is just something about that model, I don't know, is it grinning? it just has enough charecter to still look good enough that his shortness can be overlooked. Brother Remus
I've discussed this with my store manager, its unlikely that Ragnar and Ulrik for that matter will not get a new model any time soon. His reasoning being that unless the model needs to change to represent the character and their rules more, say Sicarius, then there won't be a new model, this is because Special character models don't tend to make back the money that is put into them. Ragnar hasn't changed drastically enough to bring a new model out, and I'm assuming they feel the plastic kits even it out for us. Still I'd like to know when Thunder Wolf Cavalry are coming, they can't expect them to just be conversions all the time right? o.o Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197483-new-ragnar-model/page/2/#findComment-2354563 Share on other sites

I wouldn't try to make too much sense out of GW when it comes to product updates. I hope we get something new but there's really no way to know when it will be. Race Bannon
Ragnar = Seth with some conversion work. Booya! I've always been a fan of the current Ragnar model, but I do agree that he is very dated in pose only. Otherwise, it's such a cool model. And the 5th ed version is just amazing  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197483-new-ragnar-model/page/2/#findComment-2354607 Share on other sites
slmellon
Considering there is absolutely nothing wrong with the current Ragnar (IMO) I hope never first time ive seen this opinion This model makes the Worst looking new wolf plastic combo you could make awesome. Maybe at the time it was the bomb, but its dated and doesnt give the effect of Ragnar being a Berserker...He's just standing there. @DV8----Congrats on winning the Golden Bolter. DeepDarkSecret
I actually just finished modeling one using some of the new BA bits and some chaos warrior bits and of course a few space wolf bits thrown in with green stuff. If I can ever find my camera I'll take a picture and post it. Simo429
Still I'd like to know when Thunder Wolf Cavalry are coming, they can't expect them to just be conversions all the time right? o.o as i said earlier in this thread a member of the design team have told me the models were done but hadnt got a date on them, i went to warhammer world yesterday for some lunch after a hellish trip to hobby craft with the missus for dolls house and accessories and i got talking to a couple of lads in the shop he was saying they were getting a lot of lads in a week to do one on one sessions on converting canis wolfborn into thunderwolves so i suppose when people are spending nearly 150 quid (5 canis models + a box of terminators) to get 5 thunderwolves its no surprise that GW arent rushing to bring out plastic models Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197483-new-ragnar-model/page/2/#findComment-2360044 Share on other sites

DeepDarkSecret
Don't hate on nipples man more people would walk around without shirts on if their chest and abs looked like that lol... Matter of fact if people that made laws looked like that they wouldn't be so self conscious and they would make the laws so it was okay. The only reason it's considered a problem is because most people look scary without a shirt on.
