BlackRaptor93
Hello All! Though i usually jump around armies alot, i've fallen in love with the Space Wolves. I picked up the last codex a few years ago but never got round to making an army but the wolves have always stuck with me. Now, i do not have a copy of the latest codex (money is lacking xD) but i do plan on picking it up. What i'd like to do is more discuss the background for the army i have and if it fits in with established Wolf fluff (I do know the basics such as the Fang, the trials, ect :P) My idea is such: My Great Company is lead by Irellius Wolftooth, a marine who favours a more 'direct' approach to a battle than normal. His personality is more akin to a Bloodclaw than the veteran he is, he prefers to meet foes face-to-face rather than stand back and shoot. Despite this, he is not stupid or foolish. Though much of his company is comprised of Bloodclaws, he has a sizeable cotingent of Grey Hunters and Long-fangs to assist where needed in any situation. He also has a special bond with two packs of Fernasian Wolves who accompny him into certain battles and often the entire battleforce joins in a howl after a sucsesfull victory. What do you think? Could i represent this in-game? :) Thankyou! BlackRaptor93 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197536-greetings-wolves/ Share on other sites
JEFF4i
If you want to play very fluffy-wise as far as your army goes? Yeah for sure. 2 Packs of Wolves are 2 FA choices, and you can just go say...2 packs of Blood Claws and 1 Grey Hunters, things like that. Can be viable too, if properly applied. Though, I'd take back saying "sizeable contingent" of Long Fangs. If he prefers not shoot, then why have more than a few? Mech and drop pod seems reasonable, mobility, and the ability to move and hit. Ah, and welcome Whelp! Legacy
The wolf Lord of wich you speak reminds me a lot of Lord Ragnar, possibly the second most famous wolf in the Fang. maybe if you are willing, an army that includes whim would be best. If not then the lovley wolf lord vanilla can always be custom fitted to what you wish your tactics to be. I would definately throw some BC's one with your wolf lord and one with a wolf priest. this is a good combo for the young pups. this will allow them to bolt pistol things instead of charging right in. It will help in survivability. grey hunter squad for some tactical vets. I would go with a long fangs pack and 2 land speeder typhoons so your blood claws can have support fire. if you are playing higher point games.... i would bring a drop pod with some wg terminators. So yeah, definately possible for you to make this fluff army! Hfran Morkai
*Summons an ale and passes it to BlackRaptor93* You certainly could! I think it would be a fun army to play, units of Blood Claws are always fun to use, so many attacks! Though my one piece of advice is give them a leash in one form or another, such as a Wolf Guard or an IC in order to allow them to shoot to thin out numbers first. I would suggest large units with meltaguns for popping transports and being able to assault the unit inside. I would also suggest a Power Weapon over Fist so you always get a minimum of two attacks, give a Wolf Guard Pack Leader a Fist or Thunder Hammer, though if attaching an IC I would give the Claws a Fist. Ragnar could definitely be a fit, or a Wolf Lord with Saga of the Warrior Born would reflect his penchant for close combat as well. BlackRaptor93
*Drinks heartily* Thankyou for your replies and advice! I'm glad my fluff can be used and i am itching to get creating! Thankyou for the welcome and long live Russ! ;) I actually based this army on myself: on anything i play, whether Warhammer or on a Games Console, i'm never one for sniping. I'm the guy who runs in with a Shotgun and beats people until he dies <_< Thankyou very much, BlackRaptor93 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197536-greetings-wolves/#findComment-2353535 Share on other sites

BlackRaptor93
It'll be the beard, obsession with Ale and howling ;D xD But nah, i've always loved Bloodclaws and Fernasian Wolves... probably because Bloodclaws remind me of the type of youthful spirit that will run at a Chaos Champion full tilt and kick him his power armoured privates until he drops just to prove himself, and i like that :P Plus just the idea of them being different and hotheaded makes me smile :P As for the wolves - well, they're WOLVES. Its like having Lassie as a sidekick only better because Lassie never tore a mans jugular out or defended a corpse :P Thanks, BlackRaptor93 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197536-greetings-wolves/#findComment-2353684 Share on other sites
