Pyroclastic
My Salamander captain minimally converted from a Chapter master model. I've been knocking it around for a few months and finally got around to finishing it. http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt239/ChrisHolst/Capt1a.jpg http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt239/ChrisHolst/Capt2a.jpg http://i615.photobucket.com/albums/tt239/ChrisHolst/Capt3a.jpg C&C welcome. yodaid764
Dude, wow. Love the mini, especially the way the flames turned out. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197626-salamander-captain/#findComment-2354030 Share on other sites
Enzo
nice model, the freehand on the cloak is very neat although the highlights on his left left hand are a bit thick and harsh. Besides that good work. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197626-salamander-captain/#findComment-2354254 Share on other sites

Pyroclastic
Thanks for the comments folks. They really help! @Enzo - I see what you mean by the highlights on the left hand. I think I'll go ahead and fix it. Thanks a lot for the input! Obliterator
I'm really liking that cloak! Don't be surprised if it turns up on other Sallies in the future  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197626-salamander-captain/#findComment-2354496 Share on other sites
Justicar Valius
I don't like the pose, but the painting is fantastic! Especially like the purple gem on his chest. feuer_faust
I have to agree with Justicar Valius on first inspection: what exactly is the pose meant to say or show? The painting itself is excellent: you can never go wrong with Sallies and flames. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197626-salamander-captain/#findComment-2354702 Share on other sites
Momento Mori
Recipe for the green please! excellent job. Love it! I think the pose is also excellent, looks like he could be looking at who the next enemy he's going to go after, or he's just come out of/just about to go into an offensive/defensive strike. Nicely positioned! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197626-salamander-captain/#findComment-2354954 Share on other sites
SangPriest
This looks awesome. Very nice green and the flames are sweet! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197626-salamander-captain/#findComment-2355068 Share on other sites
The Crimson Cartel
To me it looks as if he's about to do some poor :) in execution style with the melta, then head off to find the next one.. Pyroclastic
Recipe for the green please! excellent job. Love it! I think the pose is also excellent, looks like he could be looking at who the next enemy he's going to go after, or he's just come out of/just about to go into an offensive/defensive strike. Nicely positioned! This is more or less what I saw in the model when I put it together. The recipe that I use for the green is fairly simple: -basecoat the model black -paint the armor with 3-4 watered down layers of snot green -give the model 2-3 washes of thraka green (don't be shy) giving particular attention to the creases and gaps -highlight with scorpion green Hope that helps!
