Jofus
I was wondering if there any rumors of us getting a updated model for the Chaos Dreadnought. I think it and the bikers are the last minis left from 2nd edition so both could use some loving. Since GW did not repackage the new SM dread with chaos vehicle sprus always made me think that they where working on it but instead they have released 2 new SM dreads, ironclad and venerable, with out a new chaos one. Maybe whenever we hear about the 5th edition codex we will get a new dread. Lord Humongous
Maybe. Without a new codex, I can't see them bothering with a new Chaos dread model. It would sell about as well as the chaos Spawn models do. feuer_faust
Maybe. To be fair, the dreadnought gets used way more than the spawn in general, and they like to release things without a new codex on occasion (the Orks got some stompy love a minute ago!) Ashe Darke
I'd like to see it done but I doubt it will happen for a while. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197675-new-chaos-dread-model-in-our-future/#findComment-2355030 Share on other sites

Chimerical
It's got to be the most obvious model to redo for the next codex (presuming the plastic Daemon Prince is released as part of a Daemons wave before then). Will probably coincide with a huge boost to their power or different variants ala Ironclads, Furiosos, Death Company Dreads, and hence sell like hotcakes. Pure speculation, but I wouldn't be surprised to see said update by a year from now. GW guys just can't keep their fingers off the power armour. Possessed Marine
it'd be nice to get a plastic model with more options, but then again, I have a pretty ancient model Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/197675-new-chaos-dread-model-in-our-future/#findComment-2355870 Share on other sites
Ashe Darke
See hopefully the vanilla dreadnought will be crazy but cheap, and they you pay to upgrade it to a sane one for a small amount of points. feuer_faust
As an addendum, Chaos does have a fifth edition book already. It (along with the Orkz) was made in anticipation of the way Fifth Edition works. feuer_faust
I'll respectfully disagree, at that point. GW's making good time in terms of getting every 40k race a fifth edition book this time. We can wait for the Inquisition, Necrons and Dark Eldar... and regular Eldar (I don't even want to try and fathom how crazy their psykers will be). Ashe Darke
I'm hoping the Runes of Warding will be similar to Shadow in the Warp. As for a 5th Ed codex already written, it would be interesting to see but I think I'd rather have one that was written closer to it's release. Iron-Daemon Forge
I would not count on a plastic Chaos Dreadnought any time soon. We might get one in the future of course by my guess, but when is the other question. There are other armies in the GW hobby that need a new army book/codex & other models to be release. All you can do for the time being is ether buy a normal Dreadnought, Venrable Dreadnought, Ironclad or one of the other dreadnought from Forge World. Tchort
all about the forge world ones Aye, we have such beautiful Forge World ones. Even the plastic SM dreads don't compare to their Forge World counterparts.
