Long time viewer yet first time poster. I spent the past few days finally finding some time to paint a bit and threw together some of the new Death Company models. After a few hours of painting I realized these are probably the best looking models for the lowest amount of time required to paint them. SangPriest Posted April 11, 2010 Share Posted April 11, 2010 They are very nice Table Top marines. I love the DC models and you have done very well with them. You might think of putting a small highlight on the red to brighten it up a little bit on the bottom of the gems (think a small line of orange) and then add a white dot at the top of the gem. It looks awesome and it should help give em a little more umph in the impressive department. I would also think of a light ogryn flesh or devlan mud wash over your parchment and purity seals with a small highlight would help out too! Otherwise very very nice! I tried to add a bit more glow to the gems but couldn't pull off something that didn't look like Halloween candy corn. I played them for the first time today and the 5 man squad with lemartes annihilated half of a Tau force. Granting a wound on lemartes and boosting his str and attacks to 5 is amazing. Cyto Posted April 29, 2010 Author Share Posted April 29, 2010 Thank you for the kind words. Since this post I've finished the 10 man jp DC squad and painted up an Astorath the Grim as the HQ. Too costly in points to play them as they are, but I think these new models are outstanding in detail and looks. Trying to decide whether I should Krylon Crystal Clear coat them and then matte them down for protection.
