Litanies of Hate

Tyrael, Captain of the third Company

C
haos lay daggers before us

Passion speaks in grue vehement stabs

Trance my eyes, fix my focus to pain

The rage grows until the enemy is slain

Slightless storm

Knee-deep in hate I seeth

My purpose here has woken to breath

Total war on the brethren of Men

Millions regardless

Dying by our hands

A Black Rage Of Fire

Brief in its vicious eloquence

Removing the dross

The Imperium will arise from the ashes of your loss

Then and only then

Will the pleasure of Death be our

And the sinews of life itself will be tied

In the very veins of our blood

And their tears taste like wine...

We will rule as a kings

And the Emperor will sit as our guiding Light

In the glory of Terra our crowns are studded

With the jewels of the Golden Throne

-Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost.

Tyrael, Captain of the Third Company
Tyrael Machiavi was the First Sargeant of the First Squad of the Third Company of the Chapter. He was promoted because of the death of his predecessor, the Captain Erasmus Tycho, Heroe of the Chapter, pride of Sanguinius.

This model has been inspired by the wonderful conversion of noodlenerd that you can see here.

As you can see, my model is not anywhere near as good as the original, but I'm very satisfied and I no needed green stuff! I would like to restore a sense of the old Star Crusade, and I have thought about painting his power armor in white.

Since I'm not exactly a great painter, the result can be catastrophic. Pray to the Emperor!

W
e kill without scruple or silent regret

In haunts of the sinister aspect

For we are the pain that comes from your death

Rain of blood falling from the skies

The incessant pall of death surrounds we

But this is not the part of us that wishes to breed

There will be no dread thereafter

The mysteries are reveal unto thee

We stir the hearts of the wisest

By the fools we will always be feared

Our Kingdom feeds off their slaughter...

A crescendo of passion bleeding...

On the pale reflection of dawn

Devour The Sun

-Reclusiarch Asmodai

S
words in hand at the bloody fields of history, we rend our blades through dogma and humility.

Carve the future according to our will set worlds ablaze with our seething fire.

Let you all acknowledge that we are here as masters to rule this failing humanity. Our beings formed in rage and defiance with strength to trample the weak and the foolish.

And so we march with burning brands, Temples of flame on our path to glory!

-Tyrael, Captain of the Third Company

Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost

A
n Archangel in blood

Bediademed, souled

With a murder of ravens

The Astartes brethren

Abandoned to thirst

To the blood, dark and past

Gravid with madness

Like a feculent dirge

That obsesses the heart

We are covened by rage

We tore a battle banner from His hide

Splashed in red goetia

Hues of Hell and deicide

So came the night

Its obsidian light

Then we smite the Chaos

For our true nature is win

To strip tender flesh from these swine

Like the lick of carnivorous winds

The breath of the storm that begins

The world unfurled at last

Now the wolves of time who stalk Mankind

Shall be as one in grim repast

Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost
This model was the first that I've assembled. Fit the skull -of a model of
WHFB
- in the neck of a Space Marine gave me real headaches!

Initially it would be a Reclusiarch, but... I tried a Jump Pack and I liked it. But... My eyes turns to the wings of the Sanguinary Guard sprue...

You can see the outcome, a true Angel of Death!

The Crozius is from one Sanguinary Guard's axe, and the Halo from the Iron Halo of the Assault on Black Reach Captain.

A crown upon a dead man

Daylights crucified in sleep

And lives that hide in scriptured lies

To the memories of a scream

If all must we damn for this moment

Then it shall be so

For our souls have crossed oceans of time

To clasp one another more tightly

Than Death could alone...

As cyclone beats reign to make crawl

The talons of blood raise a gore call

To the lick of carnivorous winds

Beneath the howling stars

-Chaplain Invictor

Tammuz, the Company Champion

W
e will give to drink without cost,

From the spring of the water of life.

He who overcomes will inherit all this...

And we will be his sons... and he will be our Emperor."

When contrary winds blow across the sands

Their murmurs can be easily swayed

But when storms quicken one cannot placate

The howling of their murderous rages

Winged seraphim hold hate's trembling hand

Beside our waiting graves

As war roars about out precious land

Seeking cause to subjugate

Tonight in flames

Tonight the
xenos
will fear our names

Tonight in flames

Stay our strong heart

Our deaths will be the start

Of glory and war

Tonight in flames

There is no fanaticism as virile as faith

To the blind his words are clear

"Suffer not the heretic! Suffer not the heretic!

The Emperor bless you"

Tammuz, Company Champion
I told you! My skills as a painter are very poor. This is the first mini I've painted from the new BA models. Is not finished yet and looks pretty much better in the real life! But I must tweak him very much.

Anyway, I managed a wing as a shield mainly because I have no shields, but I think that looks good. The torso and the sword are from AoBR Captain -The remains, are going to be the Initiate of the honor Guard. I hope you like it!

Winged seraphim hold hate's trembling hand

Beside our waiting graves

We will revenge, do or damned

Sanguinius did the same

The
Xenos
sword must fall

Tonight in flames

Tonight the world will fear our names

Tonight in flames

Stay our strong heart

Our deaths will be the start

Of glory and war

Tonight in flames

-Reclusiarch Asmodai, Armaggedon Sermons

General Warning!

This is a slow project log and my painting skills are not enough, but I have fun with this and I will do. Reckon advised.

Cheers!

That Chaplain crozius is brilliant, I recently got the Sanguinary Guard box purely for its bits and I've been umming and ahhhing about what I could do from it. Seeing these guys has given me so many ideas for my chaps.

Would you mind if I steal the winged shield idea for my Thunder Hammer Terminators?

I'd like a shot of the wing-shield from the other side.. but I really like the idea.

Yeah, here you have it:

Yeah, the wing-as-a-shield idea is pretty nifty, as is the glaive-as-a-crozius. That's some out-side-the-box thinking. You've earned some gratuitous hyphens.

Whoohoo! Free hyphens ;)

Sure, take it! Glad you like it.

Thanks for your encouragement guys! I hope make a little update soon, maybe tomorrow. Must bought Flesh Ink to finish this guys.

Really like the work done so far.

One thing you might want to hear - the new codex says on pg 17 that Machiavi's first name is Galan.

Thanks for the compliments :P

I know about his name, but in spanish (my native language) Galan means beau or squire, something that I don't want. Really. Like Castigon, what means # scourger in a derogatory way. I'm most for the daemonic/angelic/latin names, that the renaissance ones, so I've taken the license of change that.

Two thumbs way up for the wing-shield!

I will also be stealing it. Plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery, I'll have you know.

Thanks!

For those who "steal" the winged shield I would like to see some of your results!

Cheers!

Oh my, great minds must be thinking alike, because I am doing a model with the wing as a shield right now! I like your creativity, especially the crozius idea. much potential :P

Also, I'm flattered that I could inspire with my Tycho (big thanks for giving me creds, hehe) :P

As for the painting, I think you need to take more time on the captain model to do it more justice, because I really like how you converted him. Alternatively, you could invest in the army painter dip. Link to armypainter website. Makes the painting go quick, and you get pretty good results. I use it for my troops (I HATE painting rank and file troops), and as long as you apply a matte varnish in the end, I'm really happy with it.

I'm looking forward to see how this force turns out. :P

When I get home from work this evening I'll be putting together a test Thunder Hammer Terminator, I did a dry fit test with the one wing last night it looked a tad small. Two wings is the way to go me thinks. I'll post up some pictures when he is done.

No, thanks to you for your inspiring work :)

I know the Army Painter, but I don't like it and I don't like paint troops too, but I think that I found the way, to paint this army in the right way, in the grim, dark and gothic way.

The recipe is very simple and effective. You can found it in http://www.exlibrismortis.org/ a great, great site about the Blood Angels. One example here:

Hm. Comes to my mind WHFB bretonian flat shields, with the wings attached, but I don't know if the size is ok. Hope to see your work soon :)

And a little update:

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/2134/initiate.jpg

This is the very WIP stage of Numitor, the initiate of the Honor Guard.

http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/7370/deathcompany.jpg

And the rude boys of the Death Co.

Now I'm going to see if I can do some work in the army!

Here is the first of 5 Thunder Hammer Terminators. Hope you don't mind me tagging this one in your thread?

I've magnetised the shield arm to allow for movement, and easy access to paint. The dual wings are a lot bigger than I thought they would be and cover up quite a lot of the model. I'll be adding something to cover the flat area on the front of the wings some time this week, not 100% sure what though to be honest.

Hope you like them.

Update!

Not the big one, btw.

I really HATE paint faces :pinch:

http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/8595/buddies.jpg

A new DC guy with his old friend. The red boy is one of the first marines that I have, blessed Space Crusade!! Preparing one of the SC commanders to Blood-Angel-ify ;) The rest of the DC members are primed, also Lemartes and Tyrael.

And shamely...

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/9290/numitor.jpg

The ugly Numitor :(

I get the feeling that every time I paint worse. A part from this, I have no grails, so I managed to make one for Numitor, here is a better view.

http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/3139/numitorside.jpg

And a bloody close-up.

http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/459/grailcloseup.jpg

I'm take it easy now, specially with the Captain and Lemartes. Going to paint some black armoured dudes.

Telliphas, your shield looks pretty good!, If you can get a bretonian shield to put in the middle of the wings that would be great!

Thank you all for those inspiring comments! Now, in the artistic side, I'm trying to make another member of the Honor Guard, the Standard Bearer. Sadly, a part from the Sanguinary Guard banner (that I don't like it) the only banner that I have is a metal one from the WHFB 3ed. Of the undead army specifically. I think that is easy to swap the dead's head in the top of the banner, but there are more things to cut!

We'll see, we'll see :)

  • 5 months later...

I think the problem with your painting is just that the paint it too thick. From what I see on the Numitor model, the strokes are in the right spot. and the layering is where you need it to be. With the paint so thick it just looks chunky and doesn't blend well. Try adding more water to highlighted areas. the base coat should be thicker than the highlighted coats. the final coat to an area should be slightly thinner than milk. Some say just slightly thicker than water.

It takes time and experimenting to get it right. Your local GW should be able to help you out with it if they have staff on hand. Don't be afraid to use multiple layers of the same color to get the consistancy right. When I do reds ( reds, whites, and yellows are the hardest to do btw), I have 7 layers of paint. 2 of which are 2 layers of blood red just to get the consistency right.

Where are you guys getting the skulls from? The Tomb kings skulls just don't seem right to me. Too skinny

A fine start, to be sure.

I liked how you created pieces from converted pieces. As far as I'm concerned, you get far better results from the plastic kits than the metal models GW makes...Though Forge World ain't too bad, but are pretty pricy.

Love the battleshield idea, and the twin wing storm shield posted by another person.

I'll make sure to check back to see what's happening...

Nice lacey curtains, btw ;)
