Grey Mage
Its a very good directly offensive power... But I prefer support powers. Suppose its from playing Eldar as my other army. Wich means I usually take Stormcaller, Tempests Wrath, Murderous Hurricane... for their utility. Ill give him Living Lightning if I feel I need an extra heavy weapon in the army but have nowhere to put it in. Jaws and Fury just dont seem as attractive to me. Jaws sucks against most of the targets Id actually have issues killing anyways, and Fury has a short range with no secondairy effects. Stormshrug
It seems pretty cool, and for certain armies (Dark Eldar spring to mind), it'd be a lot better than JotWW as a close-ish range power. Most of the time, though, I suspect good old Jaws is going to inflict more kills (or be able to kill more valuable units). Particularly since Jaws can snipe individual models, while Fury is a more "normal" shooting attack. I can't really see taking both, since they fill the same sort of "slot." (I'm an LL/JotWW fan myself - one for range and one for close quarters) -Stormshrug Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/198140-fury-of-the-wolf-spirits/#findComment-2360055 Share on other sites
old git
I've tried this out recently on one of my Rune Priests (I usually run with 2). He goes with an advancing grey hunter pack which means the short range isn't usually an issue. The other power I use is Stormcaller for the cover save until he gets into wolf spirit range. It's an excellent assault power as it can thin out some of the heavier enemies with the AP2 attack. In my last game the rune priest just about won it for me by killing a couple of fire dragons and causing the rest to run off, away from my home objective. I like it, even though it's not as commonly used as some of the other powers. Natanael
I've been using it quite a lot, since out local comp system for tourneys punishes most of the other powers quite hard. In a melta/plasma pistol GH squad it is kinda good, since you can blast an enemy MEQ/TEQ squad with 2xMelta, PP and FotWS. It is usually enough to make the assault very easy. Aeddon
I could see putting it on a Rune Priest if he was on a bike attached to a Swiftclaw pack. That'd make for a pretty devistating volley of fire at 12 inches. Ullr Direfang
Seeing as when I use a RP (very very very very rarely), I usually give it FotWS and MH/SC/TW. I run assault orientated HQs that always tend to lead a squad of get in you face guys. It is a mixed blessing i think but it is still my favorite power in the new 'dex. it has turned some combats that were kind of iffy it to wins by causing 4 wounds, but it has also done nothing sometimes when it would of been really nice to have at least cause a wound or two to a unit/MC.
