Shade Angels

Hello All, decided i'd start a new topic for my DIY Chapter the Shade Angels as my old post was started with 4th edition Marine Codex.

I haven' t really written any 'fluff' for these guys on paper.. but i have alot of Ideas as to what is going on with them.

 

Particularly the mentality of the army; based around Stealth and Guerrilla tactics.

Home planet is a world where out of the year only 2 months are given sunlight, and the light that reaches the surface is a neon green.

And to top it off, it's really cold. Alot of snow.

Since they are so used to the shade; seems appropriate that they'd create a combat doctrine around it.

 

And also the green sun/star is the Chapter symbol.(Basically a templar cross painted green).

Anyway, on to the pictures.

Shade Shaman Xotl - Counts as Tigurius or can be just a Regular Lib.

Fluff i have to Shade Shamans.. and why their armor is green and bright is as is their name a representation of what they do on the field.

Glow so brightly that everything else, is bathed in deep shadow. Allowing for his comrades to move about easily.

The paint job on my Shade Shaman/Lib doesn't really live up to my vision of him though; as i really just needed to get him finished for a local tourny. Someday I'll get him up to speed.

Anyway, thanks for looking guys. I have plenty of closeups etc if anyone is interested. Plus lots more to be painted. Pics of that Tomorrow.

The main idea of the chapter is basically stealth, and i really tried to come up with an eye catching color combo that was stealthy, yet pleasing.

And also - these guys are for the table.. I'm only painting them to a tabletop standard.

 

What you guys think? C&C greatly appreciated.

Mithril: I don't really write and army list - then get my army and model em as appropriate. :D Too casual of a player, and if anything i paint alot more than i play.

 

I really just assemble and paint em; I thought they looked cool, so i just built 2 squads with the entire Devastator frame.

Plus in the future it could pay off to have a marine of every type.

They're sweet, the purple and black are great, but I think the green steals the attention away from everything else, I still love them though. Very well painted.

That's one epic colour scheme you have there :D I'm liking the mix of bits from the DA and BT boxes, mainly the Ravenwing stuff. Really does bring some extra details to your models. Your Vanguard caught my eye; those are VERY expensive points wise ;) If you ran them seperately they'd be even MORE expensive http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg17/Hubernator/gifs/faint.gif I hate vanguard for their points... no matter.

Haha, thanks my dude; though i agree super expensive!! I built those guys round 2 years ago when 4th dex was out they didn't even have Jump packs.

I intended to make em just Veterans with infiltrate. But with 5th edition they turned into plastic gold.

 

Really expensive; but never fail to kill whatever i place em up against. :D

Hey all - Text update.

 

Tourny on Saturday.. and I've really got these bikes coming along nicely! Still have to write a list though...

 

Anyway, just put out my new song from my WIP album.

It's called Aladdin. Very Very experimental - so warning on that.

 

But if you like electronica(or dubstep) sounds you may enjoy.
