Vash113
But, not to take away from the paint job, am i the only one who thinks Dandy's wolves look way too much like Falkor from neverending story? I'm sorry but I'm not a fan of Dandy's wolves at all. No cuddly wolves for me, thanks. I was just thinking the same thing, especially painted up with white fur. As for the paint job, its pretty good, the colors are especially solid. Though I think he looks quite plain for a Wolf Lord to be honest, he could use more details on his armor, at the very least some detail on one of the knee pads would help and where's his Great Company symbol? I would also have preferred to see some more detail or bits on the Wolf itself. As is the Wolf is largely a sea of fur, would be nice if the fur had more of a shift in color to it like the coloring of a real wolf or had additional armor plates or something to break up the mass of white. With regard to you're Saga fluff: The Space Wolves have never been ones to stick close to the codex, and many believe that the old wolf fiercely guards secrets about the exact size of his chapter. Even within the fangs walls hushed voices talk of great companies active outside of the core twelve Wolf Lords. The great company nicknamed the Night Wolves is a case in point. Firstly the Space Wolves have never used the Codex at all, let alone stick close to it, it need not be mentioned. Secondly the size of the Space Wolf Chapter is no secret, its just not stable what so ever. The Space Wolves don't even try to conceal the fact that the Chapter is quite a bit bigger than a Chapter is supposed to be. However each Great Company is organised very differently and each Company also varies in size greatly from time to time depending on cassualties and recruitment rates as well as popularity of the Wolf Lord so that there really is no set size to a Great Company or the Chapter as a whole. But on average the Space Wolves do number well more than 1000 fighting marines and that is no secret. The Night Wolves origination is shrouded in enigmatic and venerable tales, loosely describing a sacred oath and a gathering of the chapters fabled hunters and trackers milenia ago. More talk of the burning vengeance of Russ and that not one of his enemies will escape the jaws of the wolf. When the wolfs honor has been dealt a blow and their folly escaped, it is believed they are marked by the white wolf. An unrelenting hunter of the dream world who hungers for vengeance and will harry its foe into the abyss itself. The white wolf is a patient, silent and determined hunter, traits Wolf Lords of the Night Wolves always hold . For they track the most elusive and vile of foes, striking deep in their lair ready to extract the debt owed in blood to the chapter. So you're saying you're Great Company is somehow a group of hunters a'la Kor'Sarro Khan sanctioned by the Great Wolf or something? You also use "Wolf Lords" in the plural indicating the Company has been around for some time. Unfortunately that's not the way Lost Companies work. Even the Space Wolves don't purposefully spawn rogue Companies, those Companies that depart the Fang and do not return do so of their own accord usually do to disagreement with the Wolf Lord or because their campaigns take them too far from the Fang to easily return, they are not however infinitely sustainable. The Space Wolves cannot recruit anywhere but Fenris, the Wolf Brothers are the perfect example of that. Thus no matter how accomplished a Lost Company cannot sustain its numbers for any sizeable time and even a very large Great Company couldn't remain combat worthy without replacements for more than a century or two and there's no precedence for any Lost Company recieving reinforcement from the Fang, that defeats the purpose of them being "Lost" Companies.
